Is there a way to run roof lights withou cutting into your roof?

I have all my lights in and am ready to install them on my roof rack. I was planning on just cutting the hole in the roof to run the wires through, but didn't know if there was another way or a better way that I was not aware of. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I just scrolled through your build thread and it is super impressive!! I'll be reading your thread for the rest of the day..haha. This will ultimately have me spending more money by the end of the day. Thanks for your input on the wiring I maybe going that route instead of drilling into the roof.

Same here as [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION]. Equal amount of details in my build thread. Between the two there is no way you can't do it yourself as well. And of course more ideas for you to spend your money on :thumb:

I don't remember off the top of my head who did it but a couple of guys have run it thru there satellite antenna. Kept them from drilling holes in roof. So quick try the famous search option to see if you can find it.

I was lazy and ran them inside the moulding on the sides of the windshield, positive on one side, ground on the other.

I just tried to take some pics with the weather stripping pulled out, but the black wire doesn't look like anything in the pics. I took a plastic "spudger" and removed all of the sand that was completely blocking the area between the weather stripping and the body (see arrow), then pushed the wire into that channel, fed it under the plastic piece at the bottom where it goes under the hood, and ran it under the weather stripping for the rain channel on the roof, and up the front legs of my Baja rack. I think it is a 14ga wire and fit fine.

I wanted to do it this way to avoid having to pull apart a bunch of interior trim, because I am lazy, with the side benefit of keeping the wire runs short to be able to run smaller wire.

Nice! My thoughts exactly. I was dreading pulling panelling off from the front to the back and dealing with 40 feet of wire. I was thinking something along these lines.
