is there a way to turn off the traction?

every time my rear tires start to slide and spin my car starts beeping at me and prevents me from sliding. while this is great on the road off the road the stupid lsd keeps me from having any fun. is there a way to turn this off so i can go slidin in the dirt with my buddies?

Lock your center diff. It's the button to the left of your steering wheel. When you push it, the lights will flash on the right side of the dash. Once it is fully engaged, it will be solid.

There's no special way to engage it (i.e., putting it into neutral). I just do it when going slow, about 5-10 mph.

Here's a picture of the dash lights thanks to Chris. Ignore the green light. Only the 2 amber lights will be lit when it's engaged.

Once OFF, is indicated by the TRAC OFF light in the dash

By selecting that switch you are preventing the power-robbing aspects of the VSC from kicking in. It does not inhibit the ATRAC (brake activated limited slip functionality). There is some minor loss of power/momentum if the ATRAC activates a lot but you can step on it harder an power through.



If you let the tach get above 2500-3000rpm the ATRAC drops off line. If the conditions are right you can do great donuts; if not you do the one-wheel-peel. Have fun and disable the RSCA if you have them. That could be an expensive oooops!:bash:


There is a way to disable the ATRAC completely. It'll leave you with a pure open diff and that's not that much fun

yes but its alot easier to just ask than to go looking though the manual

If you have the optional Roll Sensing Curtain Airbags the RSCA switch defeats the sensor to prevent an accidental deployment of the side-airbags. It's possible to be doing a donut or some other off-road thing and the vehicle will think it's about to rollover and deploy the bags.

If you have the side-airbags you'll have a switch next to your auto-LSD switch.
