Is this an alright deal?

Alright so I'm looking for opinions, I found a 1997 4runner with the 2.7l engine and a 5speed with 4x4 with 135k miles priced at 7400, I talked the guy down to 7000, but my travel expenses to get there and back will be about 500.

The 4runner is in wat appears to be great condition, and just had the timing chain replaced. It's also on 265/75/16 BF GOODRICH KO'S INSTALLED 6 MONTHS.

He sent me pictures of the frame and it showed no rust.

That's a LOT of money for a 97. I'd say it's probably not worth than $4500, even with the low miles.

yea i would have to agree ^^^ my isnt rare at all but i bought my 2wd 1997 sr5 auto for 1500 with 178000 miles. 7400 is really pushing it. plus your putting another 500 just to travel. i would say no.

5spd 2.7l is a very rare 4runner. If that's exactly what you are looking for, and it's in great shape with actual miles it could be worth 6-6.5 on the west coast since they're near impossible to find. If you don't care about engine/trans v6 autos are a dime a dozen.

Also, I'd be suspicious of having the timing chain replaced. Shouldn't need it with that low of miles.
