Is this the stock airbox on my 2006 V6?

Hi guys,

Is this the stock airbox and tubing?

I notice that the bolt holes don't seem to match the engine compartment?

Does anyone have a pic of the OEM unit?

It definitely isn't original, you can see the orange marker from a salvage yard written on the part

Spending money ? Just get a CAI, the gains are just enough to get you "out of the hole" to use a nautical jargon.

And the violet sucking sounds adds so much to the driving fun!

The wife drives this car more than I do, so stock and quiet and smoggable are the priorities.

But the factory set-up IS a CAI, not to mention most CAI kits for our vehicles (except for the very nice expensive ones) are worse than the factory set-up for the "Cold Air" part.

To the OP, that looks like it might be from a Tacoma/FJ; it's similar, but different enough to not fit up just right.

Funny, I see no reason why a person would stick with stock..unless its quiet and comfort for the wife...those stock tubes are all too restrictive and bendy

then again you guys may just be talking V6s, still all engines want air !

Guys, great info. Few comments:

Yes, as I mentioned above, this is the wife's car. So gaining the 3-5hp from an aftermarket CAI isn't much of a priority. I'd rather just pick up a cheap/stock tube to keep up factory appearance and remain as quiet as possible.

The MAF pics above are helpful, mystery solved :usa2:

Yes, let me know when you are back. I need everything to the left of the airbox (complete tube, 2 clamps, 2 mounting bolts).
