Is this too "ricer"

I have seen shadow lights (ghost lights) on a couple of vehicles and I never knew if it was stock or after market. They project an image from your door puddle light to the ground. I have searched this site and haven't seen this mod done anywhere. I was wondering if you guys think this is too "ricer"

It replaces your factory housing and is simply a plug and play.

Seems steep for a set of puddle lights but there are cheaper alternatives that look cheap

1) Everyone has their own opinion on what is ricer and what is not. If you want to put these on your car, then go ahead. Don't listen to what others say. Personally, I think the only time you'd see this on a car is if it was a show car. It's a little to flashy for my tastes.

2) I've heard mixed reviews about these things. They use a colored plastic insert that produces the image and I heard it fades over time.

My wife's MB came with them. She and I both cringe when we see them. Not as if the damn car isn't pretentious enough. And on the ML350 the darn thing is huge. More to the functionality, they seem to be less bright than the puddles on my 4R.

I am usually one to de-badge. I also remove the dealer license trim and logos. I prefer to to advertise for someone unless I'm being paid.

I do love Toyota and now consider myself loyal to the brand (to a point)

I put them in my Tacoma. Got them off eBay. I liked them. As long as you like then don't worry about anyone else. The new Lincolns have them in the doors now. Shine the Lincoln emblem on the ground.

I wonder if it's possible to make custom filters for these? To have it project a personalized image would be really cool.
