I appreciate your thoughts.....I am glad to hear that I am not the only 3-car family out there. I've also considered selling the Jetta and 4Runner and buying a newer 4Runner.
I'd sell a vehicle just to be able to have a a/c unit.
I just sold my x5. Its newer with all features. My wife drove it and i drove my acura tl. Now she drives the tl. I love both cars. But having an extra vehicle is just more added stress even though its all paid for.
I don't regret it. I'm trying to simplify life.
My '99 gets used 100% of the time in the winter, it keeps my other 'fun' cars off of the salted roads.
It also gets used a lot in the hottest part of the summer, since the fun cars don't have a/c, and it can get somewhat miserable here with the heat and humidity.
But in the spring and fall I drive the fun cars a bunch. A 1963 Volvo PV544 rat rod thing (more loud than fast), and a sleeper 1993 Volvo 245 with roughly 350 HP at the wheels.

I used to daily drive it when I worked in a different profession, and it was swell for my purposes.

My '96 4runner was my daily driver for 7 years. It's gone and my 2000 is now my trail vehicle. I try not to drive it as much as possible. It just rolled over 116k miles. My '91 corolla I got about 2 years ago with 70k miles on it and now it's up to 117k. I try to drive the rolla whenever possible. I love the 35-40 mpg!

My 98 LT is my DD during the winter and then it becomes a part timer for the summer. I've had it since 2000, bought it used with 25 K on the clock. It now has 162K. It's my beater /butt hauler. It still looks great though ,no mods, all OEM.

Yeah, I've never wanted more than two cars because of the maintenance required. I just don't have the time to upkeep more than two.
Well. The x5 was just maintained and new tires when i sold it. But. I feel that there are a lot of other things that are pressing in life than cars. I have a r1 street bike and a crf250 dirtbike. Those are my toys. And I'm thinking of selling the street.
Op. Its up to u to decide. If you like driving the runner more than the betta. Sell it. Just one less thing to worry and make payments on. Plus diesel prices are higher now. Your not saving much with payments as fuel.

I always do my best to try and drive the 4Runner whenever I can. When I can't, though, I usually just settle for the 4Runner.
Of course, I could always take the 4Runner in the case I can't take the 4Runner or the 4Runner. Course, I could just forget about all of those, and just take the 4Runner.

^ Basically the greatest post ever! haha I am soo jealous! I've ALWAYS loved 4Runners and FINALLY last October got to buy my first one.

Bought my 2000 T4R new and was my daily for almost 7 years. Then I bought a BMW Z4 and that was my daily till I had to Lemon Law the POS because of all the electrical problems it had. Used the money from that to buy my dream car, a NSX and that has been my daily since 2010. The 4Runner has become my weekend warrior and still running strong with 146K miles.:thumb3:

4runner was my DD until I took a job in Denver this last Oct. 160 miles a day is a bit too much for the milage and mud tires, so I sold one of my mtn bikes to buy a little 200k honda civic that gets 40mph

For the past eight years my 4Runner has been my DD. I had a brief 6 month stent with a Volvo commuter car, but like all cars with German/Bosch electrical systems, the car was very problematic and eventually blew up.
I recently leased a Nissan Leaf electric car, so that is now my DD. If I could only keep one of our three cars (two of them are brand new), the 4Runner is the one that would stay.

Yeah I figured it's the best candidate for DD duties, it's in the worst shape.
My 4Runner only has 89K and the Tacoma has 141K so i'd rather keep those in the best shape possible.
