well after reading some of the post here, ill admit i stopped reading after about mid way down page 2 -i wanted to say my thoughts on this before i lose them all to my ADD... i first feel i need to put this out there. to those of you who have not served over there and especially those who have not served at all, i respect your opinions, but thats about it. i dont see them as relevant in this topic. you have not made the sacrifices, felt the pain of losing friends, this is not personal to you(unless you have lost a close friend who served, but still its not the same). being there and seeing things first hand will always win, and take precedence. there are things seen, observed and experienced that no words can explain. to have everything we fought for and risked everything for be turned upside down and to watch and know of the beginnings of these things being used against us ect is sickening. to me it makes me feel like i have been a failure. -sure i dont believe we should have ever gone over there like we did, not our war, not our place bla bla bla. well guess what, i took the job, knowing the risks, and what was probably gonna happen, though this was never something i thought could or would happen, yes i know how naive of me. well i grew up fast. at 30yo i have seen things, experienced and done things most 60yo have not nor ever will. i feel like im 45 going on 31 in some aspects of life. i look around to most of my peers and think, your all f'ing stupid and dumb, and have no clue as to the real world out there... if it was up to me the way to fix this current ISIS deal would be to go in and be ruthless. give the people over there in the cities 24hrs to leave, and take nothing with them other than food and water. then go in and destroy anything and everything that moves. yeah sure a lot of innocent people would die and be killed, but after the first town or two everyone would get the hint. we are not Fing around and we intend to exterminate anything and everything that can be of use to ISIS. -basically be like Saddam was. -it was a known fact that he hated the taliban, and if he caught the taliban in his country he would torture and kill them, in the most brutal ways imaginable. im not saying we torture but we just strait kill them and any tools they have. we do this by ourselves, no arming small militias or making a "rebel force" to help out. no, that is a big problem, this is why we always get into this chit. BTW we made ISIS, we trained their leaders and taught them our tactics. and this time we do not leave a shoelace behind or if we do we destroy it beyond recognition/use. the media needs to be shut down and left out of it, our soldiers need to have no contact with family back home, no social media ect. we do things right, no PC. -im not saying wipe out the population, im saying destroy the means of their fighting by our hand -equipment, tools ect of fighting that we are responsible for. let the people live, as long as they are willing to put down their arms and IEDs ect. if they refuse kill them. then onces we have accomplished that leave. leave no support, no infrastructure, no aid, nothing. let them deal with it. they have been fighting for thousands and thousands of years, and they will always continue to fight. we need to not be involved on any level.
those who have not been to war dont understand and i dont expect you to. but please keep your ideals out of this, its not real and thats exactly the reason we are here with this mess in the first place. because weak people got into power that have no backbone and no Fing clue as to how things really work and what works
