ISR + Deck plate = P0171 ?

if the VSVs are broken or messed up they may cause a vacuum leak, connect them back and turn the engine on and feel and hear is air is being sucked in

the first picture is from a 96 Tacoma, wasn't sure what this part was even called on my 4runner, VSV eh, i'll do some tinkering with it tomorrow, i'm sure at least that it the part should be replaced... considering how banged up it is....

So to finish this thread, i replaced the front O2 sensor and it didn't help. When i did the ISR box removal, i followed some write up that put a T onto a vacuum line on the intake manifold, well that line controls how much fuel is injected into the system based on how much vacuum it's getting, which wasn't enough apparently.... so i drilled a hole into my ISR pipe that i used and epoxied a fitting to it (pictured) and no more CEL's since.

I was reading through your thread and literally was just going to say that you shouldn't put a T in a line unless it's designed to handle the split (like a boost line) but looks like you already figured that out I've been there, done that.
