ISR Mod Pics?

Alright fellas! Give them up! I've been on this darn computer for over an hour now, trying to find decent pics of your ISR mods, but can't seem to find much on here! I even tried the Search function....but didn't get much.

Can you guys post pics of your ISR Mod's with a brief description of the parts you used?

I'm kinda getting ansy to do some modding....and thought this would be a nice little project I can work on this weekend!

I used a 3" piece of pipe that a buddy had laying around. Then I wrapped it in a "carbon fiber" sticker that I got at Vato Zone!

I just had a local pipe company cut a piece of 2.75" OD tube to 5.5" and then painted it with high heat paint. I actually threw the old stock piece back in recently, so if you want the pipe, you can have it.

Hepar, that's really kind of you to offer....but I'm thinking shipping would be a pain....I can get some tubing for next to nothing...so mainly looking for some examples.

What else have you guys got?

I used a piece of boat exhaust hose instead of a pipe, fit perfectly!



Wow, my engine bay is really dirty from a recent desert trip...

I noticed that all the pictures so far are of late model trucks, so I figured I'd throw this picture in as well.. The ISR mod on my '97 w/the early model intake tube.

And of course the late model ISR mod, when it was installed on the '01

Ok, so this mod is Slow comin! Sorry guys, been working on my rough idle and running issue, and haven't been working on the ISR mod too much.

I managed to score some piping from a friend for nothing, and am now waiting to get it here. In the mean time, what should I do with the vacuum hose that plugs into the front air chamber that I'm omitting? Can I loop it like Hepar? Should I run a "T" fitting like some of the others have done??

I have also been working on some color combinations for another project....which one do you guys like best?

Give it a try. You won't really gain any power or mpg. You will just increase the noise. It'll probably drive you crazy after a few weeks, if not sooner.

I'm not really looking for any HP or MPG gains, just looking to clean up the underside of the hood. Those two resonators are a pain to work with, when taking apart that assembly too....

As for the sound increase....I'm kinda hoping it does get noisy.....as I'm looking to drown out the sound of those mud tires! lol!

You didn't give me your opinion on the the color schemes.....what do you prefer??

Airraid MIT for the win!! I love mine. I got a little more umph out of my motor since its supercharged, but I too did it mainly for the extra space under the hood. plugs are way easier to get to now!

Cool so it looks like keeping the air box and removing the baffles is the way to go instead of using the traditional cold air intake?

it really depends on the route you want to go with your truck. if you do most/all of your driving on the street, a CAI won't hurt ya (at the same time, it won't do much good on the 3.4). however, if you plan to do just about anything off road, it's usually not the best idea to have such a high flow filter so unprotected in your engine bay with all of the dirt, dust and potential water flying around. you have to figure: if the high filter lets so much more air through, what's to stop it from letting FOD through? hence why most on here will run an OEM style filter and keep the protection of the factory airbox, but run a deckplate mod and and an ISR mod.
