Ok, for those of you who remembered...at test drive Ruffian had a few issues that I had to hammer out with the sales staff. I won't go into all the details again, but I will not be doing business with them again. I just filled out my Toyota Customer Service survey yesterday and I basically put that if it wasn't for the Service Department manager, I'd never be back for anything except for warranty/TSB work.
Appointment #1 was to have someone look at why 4Lo was not engaging, why there is moisture in the left side head & fog lamps, and of course that annoying clunk issue. All but the 4Lo gear was fixed, since they needed to order parts. The part order only took them 6 weeks to get. Grrrrr.
So, thanks to the dealership and their stupid sales people, I have a new 4Lo gear box on my truck. Cost them $2200 but for me with labor it would of been nearer to the $7000 mark. That was appointment #2. Also at appointment #2, they were supposed to complete a full detail since that was NEVER done when I told them the carpets needed cleaning at the DAY OF the purchase. Yeah, they "forgot" again. So appointment #3 was this morning. I also added in two more issues I want fixed. That well documented rattle in the roof that comes from the loose bar in the sunroof, and also a weather strip issue.
I'm tossing this out there for others advise. There is a weather strip that runs alongside the windshield, back along the roof rack and ends of course at the tailgate edge. The weather strip is lifting up near the tail gate, and is thus not long enough to fit underneith a plastic part at the edge of the windshield. The gal this morning said this fix is probably not going to be covered under the warranty. If they won't fix it, I'll get close up pics to post here for tips on how to fix it on my own.
See, a 2003 4Runner and I'll have it new again in no time!
