Anyone ever used one of these?

JakJaw - Multi-Use Recovery Tool

I'm looking at getting a hi-lift and an accompanying attachment for my sliders. I came across this one on the SS website and hadn't seen it before. It seems like it would work just fine, and it's $30 cheaper than the lotus attachment on Amazon.

I've got one. Haven't used it aside from "practice" in my garage, but it worked really well. I've seen the Lotus one in person (a buddy of mine has one) and I personally prefer the JakJaw. It solidly attached to my Hi-Lift, and had no issues lifting the entire side of my rig from the slider. Seems that it allows the Hi-Lift to be slightly further away from the vehicle than the Lotus one, which I prefer.

Good stuff, thanks for the input. I'm probably gonna place an order on Monday with Sonoran Steel then. Planning to pick up a set of hi-lift mounts for the cargo area, jak-jaw attachment, and parking brake bracket. Hopefully they only charge me for shipping once since it's "flat rate", which I assume means they just throw it in one of those USPS boxes. All of that should easily fit into one.

I have the lotus version, it is well built and does the job. I have seen the jackjaw in person also, but don't really have a preference.

Whichever one you go with, just be sure to have your hi-lift setup securely when you use it (sliders make a very good pivot point for the hi-lift, and its easy to do body damage). Also: I don't advise trying to use them with the hi-lift on a slick floor, such as an epoxy-coated garage floor (don't ask me how I know).

how do you know? if you have pictures to accompany the story, that would be best.

I’ve tried searching but can’t find an answer to my question. I have budbuilt sliders with full treads, would the jakjaw work with them, or is the notch too deep? I’ve looked at all the pics I can of them but none i’ve seen show whether the top of it would come up above the slider tubing.

I have the jak-jaw and bought it b/c I like the how you can position it between the support beams on sliders. I was originally considering the Lotus, but felt like it could slip out easier.

For size reference, the jak-jaw is about as big as a nice burger.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don’t think I want something with that name lol. I may just wind up getting a lotus style, but thought the jakjaw looked a little more versatile.
