JAOS Rear Spoiler is lose

I had mine for a while, since ’06. Got it from Jason. It was primer and had it painted by the body shop across the street from my work at the time. They mounted it but did a half ass job of connecting the wire from the old light. It worked fine at first but then would go off and on. Had my stereo guys finally fix it but they had to take the spoiler off to get to the original cover. I kind a cringed because it held on by these pressure clips I and I had a feeling it that its not going to go back tight enough and sure enough its little lose now if you wiggle it. The guy at the stereo shop tried to tighten it up by bending the clips a bit but to no avail. He said don’t mess with it because the clips that go under the rubber window strip that clip to the body metal is eating it away. If I screw with it the metal will chip away and there will be nothing to clip too. I can just see it flying off on the freeway. My bud said ”Oh its just a fiberglass wing, it do much damage”
My plan now it to bolt or screw it on like the 4 gens are from the inside hatch. Has anyone done that... tips?

Here's a thought.

The original JDM Hilux Surf spoilers aren't only held in place by the clamps on the top and bottom part. Instead Toyota Japan also used some thinner industrial double-sided tape on either end where it touches the hatch, so the spoiler is intact.

Burtman supplies the Jaos spoilers with some thicker one-sided stick-on padding material, just to prevent scratching of painted surfaces.

Thats and idea thanks but even when I had it 1st put on the guy at the body shop said don’t hang on it. So it was never really on there solid.
Maybe I should just take it off and put the metal blade back on and paint it the Jade

If you open your back hatch and look up in the corners... I was thinking of drilling 2 or 3 holes on each side through the metal and into the spoiler and secure with some screws. Or maybe some industrial strength double stick tape?
