Well I guess I can start a build thread finally. I bought it a few years back. Its a 1996 T4R Limited (no diff lock). It had about 186k miles and its over 200k now. It has done me very well so far other than a lower ball joint failure, partially my fault due to age and spacer lift.

truck looks great with the lift/tires by the way. Oh yea, how difficult was the extended brake line install? I have one that's been sitting here for months, too scared to attempt to install it lol any tips?

It wasnt hard at all, bleeding brakes was most difficult. With the axle completly disconnected and fully drooped with just the panhard bar connected it was barely fully stretched. Like almost running the stock one would be fine but hey, its for safety right!

Added some more pics up top. Took her up a little trial. Really didnt do any wheeling at all, just propped her on a little rock. Still havnt lowered the bump stops and dont want to over compress the shocks.

Just installed my Sonoran Steel bump stops so that my rear coils dont over compress. Steve told me if I ran longer shocks the coils could just fall out and with the tokicos that I have now he said they can over compress and blow out first time on the trail. So now that they are installed I can go have some fun.

I also installed a cheap intake I got from a buddy for pretty much free. Sounds awesome, butt dyno shows a little more power and it looks good too. Dont flame the HOT air intake, LOL.

I will post up some pics when I take her out and offroad test her this weekend.

Well getting around to adding some more stuff to the 4runner mainly due to a bad situation. Drivers side lower ball joint failed when flipping around in front of my buddys house. When it failed the upper ball joint also failed so the tire/hub came off and went under the truck. Ball joints where ordered a few days before because I knew they where in need for replacement with 220K miles on the clock and wife was telling me that it felt like the tire was going to fall off, LOL, go figure. Also I was running my old stock suspension with spacers because my ome shocks and springs where handling like crap and blown out (I got them used). Amazing the stockers with spacers felt better.

Anyways here is what I purchased and will post up some pics of the carnage in a little bit.

New 881 ome front springs
New 90004 ome shocks
New OEM front ball joints
New OEM outer tie rod ends
New upper ball joints
Used cv shaft
New cv shaft boots
New OEM rack and pinion
Poly rack and pinion bushings
New spidertrax 1.25" wheel spacers (to fit my new 33's)
New 285 75/r16 (D) Bead to Bead Treadwright Guarddogg Mud/Snow tires
Also have to replace abs cable, brake line and some small odds and ends

New rear axle seals and o rings
New rear brakes
4crawler 1.5" body lift

Tires and toytec parts are in, still waiting on the new OEM parts and some used parts, hopefully she will be up soon, will post new shots when she is back up and going.

Ouch! Thankful that it's never happened to me. A good reminder to everyone to replace your LBJ's!!!! Good preventative maintenance that will save you lots in the end.

Yea im mostly glad my wife wasnt driving with the kids on the highway or something crazy like that. Luckily I was pulling to stop. First I thought I ran over something very large and then relized exactly what happened about 2 seconds after it happened.

Well finally got the 4runner going and took her up too the trail too test her out. I didnt get any trail pics, it was too snowy and muddy so we stayed in the trucks most of the time. She did really well, lots of flex, couldn't get a tire to come off easily which I love. Tires are new but look dirty due too the trail, I just quick sprayed her off.

Quick run down of what I did, rebuilt entire front end, OME shocks, coils, SS lift sleeve's, new rack and pinion, ball joints, tie rods, 1.25" spidertrax spacers, 1.5" 4crawler body lift, 33" treadwright tires, new trd decals for that extra 10hp!

Updated the build thread with my current mods and cleaned up my post. Did some crazy wheeling this week, took on a few of the harder trails up in the rockys near where I live and she performed awesome. Out wheeled my buddys 99 with the Ultimate Toytec lift. Ultimate my ass, LOL needs a lot more flex in the rear which those superflex coils would help him a lot. But we kept up with locked solid axle rigs and did some stuff they didnt think we could do. Off topic but here is a fun pic I took with my buddy who just got a new Evo X just to make me jealous.

Finally got around to getting my tundra brakes on. I went with OEM toyota pads (non chamfered), shims, rotors and napa reman 13wl calipers. I could not believe the difference in braking power. Feels like it out brakes some sporty cars ive owned. Love it, feel so much safer now.

This is the first upgrade ill be doing after my deployment, i have put it off long enough and now i need front brakes. Did you run into any snags or anything unexpected? What are "the expensive shims"? Any thoughts on the quality of the napa calipers, i see everything else is OEM($), nice job man.
