JBL Nav and Backup Camera Resetting 2013 T4R

Posted for another member who is new to the forum.... Has anyone run into this?

Have to say, the 15 post rule sucks for me. I am new to this forum, long time tacomaworld member, but recently traded in for a 2013 T4R limited. Having an issue with the JBL nav and backup camera resetting. Searched the forum and not much info, wanted to ask, but am stuck here instead.

So I have only had my 4Runner a few weeks and I have had this issue twice where the backup camera is greyed out and then after restarting the car the system reboots, here is a video any help?!? https://youtu.be/MG3HYnCok-Y
After 15 minutes or so the camera works again

My pleasure.... I hope someone here can help you with your problem.... I find there is little that goes on associated with a T4R that the collective here hasn't experienced.... This is an awesome forum....;-)

I hope so, just bought this and love it, but of course I can't replicate the problem at the dealership. Bought a warranty, which would cover fixing it, if I can replicate the issue.

Just an update. I pull the head unit out, since it looked so easy to do, based on someone's write up on here. 5 minutes and the head unit was hanging out. All wiring connections looked secure, pulled each connection individually and check for any signs of problems and nothing, put it all back together and so far I have not had the issue again. Fingers crossed it was something loose, only time will tell.

Hopefully you are right..... The lack of response from the forum seems to indicate that this is not a common issue so a loose connection would make sense.... Good luck!

Update: dealer can not duplicate the issue, but I emailed my videos of the problem every time it happened (I have like 40 videos of the same issue). And I think it annoyed them as much as it annoys me, because they are going to replace the head unit, thankfully I bought a Zurich warranty because the head unit is $2700.
