Started to work on the cargo drawers for the 4Runner in hopes of having it completed for my wheeling trip at the end of the month. I started with some basic measurements that I got from Dusty Driftwood that were as follows.
Outer Measurements
40" Wide
32.75" Deep
8.5" Tall
Drawer Measurements
17.25" Wide
30.75" Deep
7.25" Tall
I am building mine to work in conjunction with my double-decker cargo system, allowing me to not loose too much hauling capacity.
Here is a link to the drawers I'm using as a template.

Planning to have the drawers not only slide out, but open from the top to allow access with the rear window rolled down. I'll be using 1/2" and 3/4" plywood to build the drawers.
Started off with some quick sketches on paper to get an idea of how to lay everything out.
Then sketched it out full size to make sure I hadn't made any calculation errors.
Gonna head to the store tomorrow to but the wood and, if the weather cooperates, start getting some of the pieces cut out. I'll keep this post updated with the progress.

Went out and got the wood today at Home Depot. One sheet of 1/2" MDF and one sheet of 3/4" MDF. They were a little big for the 4Runner so I had to get creative.
Needless to say it was a fun ride home.

Had a buddy of mine come over and help me cut the wood. Got everything mocked up and in place. Just need to sand down a few of the rough edges and paint tomorrow and it should be done.

About 90% done.
Got all of the wood screwed together and in place. Now all that's left is to carpet and bedline it and fill it up!

Drawers are done!
