Jeep Rubicon Stuck in snow (video)

What do you guys make of this video? I thought all Rubicons have front lockers?

If so, is it possible the guy didn't know about it?

Yeah that doesn't look right, he either didn't engage it or has already blown it.

The Rubicon has front and rear selectable lockers. Somebody needs to learn to drive. That would have been funny if it became unstuck and started going with nobody in the driver's seat.

probably elementary... but what's a front locker...is that like our differential lock?

It works the same way as a rear differential lock would work. Engage the front locker and you have positraction to both wheels on that axle.

Perhaps he was just testing to see if the locker was working. It seemed that even though his rear was buried he could have gotten out of that situation. A little rocking back and forth and he would have popped right out.

I also think he was testing it out. At the last bit of the clip, the wife says "let's go" so obviously she knew that they were gonna get unstuck.

Yeah and he said "hmm, this wheel isn't turning"

He had it planned out, the gas was going while he was out of the car and the wife was in the passenger seat, so he knew it wasn't going to move, but could move it when he wanted to.

The guy got out of the car leaving it running and in gear, then walked around the front of the car while it was in this state with no one in the drivers seat. We are obviously not dealing with a brain surgeon here...I wouldn't necessarily take this as a good example.
