jeep shocks on 2nd gen??

My brother has an 08 jeep and took off his fortec shocks, swapped them out for a 5 inch rockcrawler lift kit and procomp shocks. he still has them and says i can have the take off shocks, was wondering if i can use them on my runner, since its free its no cost to me. its a shot in the dark and i'm sure they won't fit but figured i'd ask the all mighty 2nd gen gurus. thank you.

Got a part # for the shocks? How do they mount on the top and bottom? What is their closed/open lengths?

yea, I don't know anything about that, or about shocks and how they mount for that matter... i'm sorry. just wondering if anyone had a jeep JK with those types of shocks. answers my question, thank you much guys!
