Got to work up some budget money. The wife wants a new kitchen and I want tires, hubs, part time 4wd kit, upgraded spindles and so on. I like the BFG KM2's, 300 each, ouch.

The first trip offroad I found the power steering reservoir was super hot so I decided to add to the volume and a cooler. Added about 2 inches to my power steering reservoir.
Since my son wrecked his 4runner I used the B&M cooler I bought for his tranny for my power steering.
I used some old a/c condenser brackets to mount the B&M.
ISR mod.
I used 0.050" wall Inconel tubing with a stainless steel hose barb.

Getting around to doing my rear lower links. I will be using,
2"x2"x1/4" wall square tubing
1-1/4" Johnny Joints with 18mm through holes on one end with 1-1/4" ladder bar adjusters for adjustment.
Ballistic Fabrication 1-1/4-12 square inserts
Land Cruiser bushings on the other end

Awesome idea with the cooler and reservoir. Lot and lots of fabrication skills there. Building a vehicle nearly from scratch is what I hope to achieve some day. Keep up the good work.

I'm about an hour north of Birmingham in Etowah County. Yeah one day that'd be great! I'd definitely make a trip out of it when you get everything figured out and when I had the time. I'd love to wheel with a SASd 3rd gen.

your attention to detail and motivation and determination is outstanding.. i know if i was doing something like this and it wasnt happening fast enough id just give up... im very impatient. keep up the good work, i cant wait to see this thing done!

Thank you all and a little update. I finally went on a real trail ride with my club and considering my lack of armor and tires it did pretty good although I had to flog the hell out of it some times (is flog a word). I did beat the shit out of my axles and link brackets dragging them across the wet rocks. The trail leader is supposed to be getting pictures posted, time will tell.
Radiator protection made of 3/16 plate. I will get a pic with it installed.
The beginning of my rear bumper. I will have to add about 8 inches to that piece of tubing because someone measured wrong. It will have some 3/8 plate welded to the ends to attach the wrap arounds for the corner protection.
4x4x1/8 square tubing
Installed the plug I made to take care of the damage to my transfer-case rear housing. It either got damage in the wreck or the salvage yard smacked it with a fork truck. It was leaking oil so I made a plug and moved the o-ring groove to get past the damaged part.

Made a little progress on the rear bumper today.
These will be permanent attatchment points for the bumper. They are 2x3x3/16 tubing. There will be a gusset made of 2x2x1/8 inch square tubing going from the long end to the frame.
These pockets are for my recessed recover points made of 3/4 inch plate. I recessed them so I want be bruising my legs.
Here is a side shot and I must say I don't like the way its looks, anyone have any ideas to make it look cleaner. The bumper will be bolted on with 4 3/4" bolts. The bolts will be recessed and go all the way through the 2x3 tubing.
There will also be plates at the end of the 4x4 tubing to attatch the wrap arounds for corner protection.

I like the radiator armor... just wondering why you didn't just swap your radiator to one from a 2uz?

The 2uz radiator is shorter and doesn't hang down at all and it should drop right in and hook up.
Callen (Fawk Awph on pirate) told me about it, pretty sure it's what he did when he SASed his 4runner. I just texted him to make sure.... also trying to sift through 70 pages of build to find it lol I'll get back to you.

Anyway - if you decide to switch it out, you'll want one from a 2RZ. From a 2wd tacoma with NO A/C.
