Yes I did and no issue for fitting in the well. Many having 285/70R17 have the spare in the well also.

Damn Photobucket... images not showing up anymore.
I am considering moving all my images to Flickr or elsewhere, as everybody else. This will have to wait since I am preparing my next trip these days.

I just completed the migration of my pictures from PhotoBucket of sh.. to Flickr. I still have to figure out a few thinks like the possibility to have a meaningful link address instead of the cryptic code.

FN Wheels F(X) Pro

After deciding that I didn't want to perform regular inspections of spacers, I decided to buy new wheels. So today, I took the 4Runner for another trip south of the border to get my brand new FN Wheels F(X) Pro in matte gunmetal.
They came packed in a very professional fashion with nice front scratch covers.
I called Dustin directly. He is such a nice guy but hard to reach a bit! He made a really good deal for 5 of them with the nuts and TRD silver caps. The fifth one will stay home until I get a rear bumper with a spare swinging arm (not anytime soon...) A really special thanks to Dustin for this amazing deal.

Since I crossed the border in Ontario, they charged me only the TPS (5%), but as a Quebec resident, Revenu Quebec should be informed later with this crossing and will probably send me a letter asking me the TVQ (9.975%).
These wheels are 8 inches wide and 0 offset. Using a Wheel Offset Calculator with the Trail Edition specs of 7.5 inches and +16mm, this yield to a bit less than an inch outward for each wheel. This is a bit less than SpiderTrax at 1.25 inch, but since I am planning to move from 275 to 285 tires when the current will be done, this should prevent some rubbing (I hope...).

I will leave for Idaho for the solar total eclipse on August 21. After that, the tour will begin! I am working hard on the itinerary these days. Keep an eye on my Adventure Thread for more details. I should be able to present the plan in the next few days, hopefully.

Shipping to the lower 48 states was 130 USD for five wheels, this was for sure the cheaper option. They could ship to Canada if you want but this would be an extra. My guess is that could be well above 100 more. For me, driving to Massena NY is an hour drive, so that is not so bad. I am using Kinek.com as a depot.
For the taxes, if you make them ship to Canada, the taxes will be collected anyway. No savings there!
I don't where you are located in Canada but Cochrane Toyota in Cochrane, AB are FN Wheel official distributor for Canada. You can reach the parts department directly at (403)851-2930. For me, this wasn't an effective way to do since I ended up paying for two shipping, one toward Alberta (included in their price) and the other toward Quebec. If you live in Alberta near Cochrane, go get them there.

Suspension install
This was a great day for the build! I went to Mr. Toy 4x4 for the installation of my ToyTec BOSS kit. Since I am really not a mechanic, I was a bit worried about the added difficulty caused by the presence of the KDSS system on my Trail Edition. The installation went flawlessly and rapidly, thanks for their experience with this kind of install.
I opted to install the differential drop kit included with the ToyTec BOSS kit. I only hope that the dealer which makes my oil change will not mess with the aluminum spacers now needed for the OEM skinny skid. Will see very soon.
In the next few days, I will take post install measurements and a few pictures.
After, I went to Pneus Belisle in St-Jerome for the alignment. They are used to work on this kind of lifted vehicle since Michel, the owner of Mr. Toy 4x4 send all his customer there after a lift install.
On my way back, I had some time to appreciate the new suspension behavior. It feels a lot more rigid, but not too much to be uncomfortable. I didn't try to brake hard to feel the absence of the famous 4Runner nose dive.
Also, while the truck was on the lift, they also installed the ARB differential breather kit. After verification, it seems that the transfer case breather is already router higher, so I only relocated the rear differential breather.

FN wheels f(X) Pro install
Another great day for the install. I went to FCP in Sainte-Catherine to swap my KO2 tires from the stock TE wheels to my brand new FN Wheels f(X) Pro gunmetal.
I choose not to install spacers since I wasn't comfortable with adding some potential points of failure. This is a personnal opinion. Replacing the 7.5 inches 16mm offset TE wheels with these 8 inches 0 offset wheels, the truck gained 22mm per side, for a stance about 1.75 inches. The look is a lot more natural as it should has been designed from my opinion.
I am looking for some black wheel lock nuts to keep everybody honest. Unfortunately, FCP didn't have black in stock.
I will wash the truck and post some pictures later.

Service 3 and wheel locks
Today, in preparation for my next big trip, I brought the 4runner to the dealer for the 32000 km inspection (service 3), even if the truck has 38000 km already. Honestly, the way I use the 4Runner, it is really complicated to respect any maintenance schedule. It is not my daily rig so it sits in the garage most of the time, then I leave for a trip in the southwest or any other place far away, for trips between 15000 and 22000 km.
I asked to reprogram the NAV system which was rebooting again sometimes, but not frequently.
I also took the opportunity to ask them to install the McGard Wheel Lock I bought lately. Just to try keeping everybody honest.
My camera is still in repair at Canon, so no pictures for now. It changed a lot compared to the picture on first page. Sorry.

Since my camera finally came back from Canon repair shop, I took the opportunity to catch a few shots of the 4Runner after the ToyTec lift install and wheel swap. It look much better with a larger stance.
I love these wheels so much.
I also took some measurements to compare with those pre-install but I get weird increase. The kit is supposed to be set at factory for 2.5 inches of lift, but I end up at 3.5 inches in the front and 2.5 inches on the back. I really doubt my measurements which were taken from wheel center to wheel well. I am guessing that many factors influence these like different wheels offset, +4 caster, and the lift itself. I didn't simply measure from the wheel well to the ground.
