you can see here, its probably a little too tall in the front. I had not put in the new 891's in there rear yet either, but the CV angles look a litte steep to me. I adjusted them down a little.


installing the rear, this is the only pic I took. The rear spring install went pretty quick.

all done, it sits a little higher overall, and I might adjust them up a little more to be closer to even with the rear. We will see over the next few days if it settles more in the front and how the CV's look.

That's hilarious that you used the bottle jack to get your lift on. I had to do the same thing!! Haha me and a friend fought with that thing forever and then I was like ok this isnt working im going to use my bottle jack lol.. it worked and I got the lift on so all is well... your truck is looking good and I don't think I congratulated you on 4 runner of the month so congratz man.

Did you get your 883's on today? If so, how did they work out?

Easy. 1 hour and 5 minutes. Going to replace power steering pump tomorrow and she will be ready for next weekend.

They are a little tall right now, but we will see how tall they are after I beat them up next weekend. I wheel hard at the Jamboree every year. The rest of the year is for scenic trips and softroading.

Yeah, we will see how much hard wheeling I do, apparently I will now have 4 guys riding with me now, 5 including me. I hate having that many people in my truck offroad; do you think anyone in your group wont have a passenger? And be interested in having one? We can talk more about this offline, I will be giving you a call later this week, probably around Wednesday night.

Sounds good to me, it needs to be done, and like you know I have been putting it off. I will probably be over next weekend, we can do it then, this coming weekend is the Toyota Jamboree so I will get the engine bay all nice and muddy for us! jk

Actaully, that is my brothers project. He found that thing on craigslist and had to have it for some reason. Its basically a small delivery truck, like a Snap On tool truck. Its a 60's model Olsenette, an all aluminum body, so no rust, and very straight! He has completely redone a lot of it, small block chevy, transmission, axles, brakes (disc now) custom exhaust and headers, just about everything mechanical or electrical on the thing has been restored or replaced. He fabricated everything himself, engine mounts, transmission cross-member, battery tray, radiator etc etc. He even fabricated a new gas tank for it. Its just about done mechanically; and the thing sounds like a freakn' beast with the exhaust he built!

I didn't know about this mod until I joined this site. Heres a few pics I took when I did it. I used a can of wasp and hornet killer on the intake tube, fit perfectly, painted black and no one can tell what it was originally! ha

EDIT: I have since removed the can of wasp and hornet killer and replaced with an airraid intake tube. Nothing wrong with the can of wasp and hornet killer, it worked just fine. I just happen to come across the airaid intake tube on craigslist for $40.

So I may be asking a question that seems simple, but what exactly is the cut out for in the air intake for?

The ride is awesome man, really dig the toolbox drawer system man, would love to build that for myself.

Also did you actually rhino line the wheels or is that just a paint system that you can pick up and do yourself? Any problems with peeling?

The hole in the airbox is to allow more air into the engine, which in turn provides more power because they only way the engine (ECM) can adjust for more air is by adding more fuel. more fuel and more air = more power.

Also did you actually rhino line the wheels or is that just a paint system that you can pick up and do yourself? Any problems with peeling?

I used Rustoleom underbody coating, its kind of like rhino liner but the texture is finer. Used about 3-4 cans I think.
