Don't worry about me, I think I'm going to have to sit this out anyway. Not sure yet, but if it happens on Saturday that's fine.
What size diameter fuel hose did you get for the rear diff mod, was it 3/8?

Do I need the diff breather mod? What are the benefits?
this is definitely not a run to do solo, but I'm sure others would gladly run it again with you
Like 6ft, it will run from the stock breather location to where most people put it near the gas cap.How much fuel line do I need? I have some laying around at work in 4ft sections.
Besides water, the other benefit is that it moves the vent up above all the other crap that can clog it. After 19 years mine got clogged on the last run and blew out my rear axle seals. Worth $20 to prevent.Do I need the diff breather mod? What are the benefits?
Hey gang, I had a great time, if this run end end up taking all day last time and we were rolling back into GVL in the dark. I really enjoyed our mid-run BBQ, but it added some time so are we planning on doing something like that again or something more direct?
I think we should decide approximately how long we want to be out on the trail and we can adjust our stops to keep on pace. I know this run fairly well and can get a decent guesstimate on where we need to be to keep on track.
Also, I appreciate the "go for it" attitude, but there's a couple little steep and loose sections even on the first part that I would be pretty impressed if a 2wd could get past, but these things always amaze me so who knows.
So approximately how many rigs do we have? Need to factor that into the equation as well.
Looking forward to it...

You had me at mid run bbq

I really enjoyed our mid-run BBQ, but it added some time so are we planning on doing something like that again or something more direct? Were stopping at the same spot for lunch, don't think bbq was in the plans but that would be cool. The plan was a more direct route on the way to white mountain and if we had time after finishing maybe explore another trail, but if we're taking a lot of time to finish the trail( my guess with 15-20 trucks almost everyone wanting to go the full distance as far as I know) we will take the most direct route back to green valley as well

Finally got a chance to look at the gps.
I followed the map on the first page, So what we did was we went up 3N16, hung a left on 3N14->4N16->3N17 The first major obstacle I ran across was a left hand off camber turn. In 2wd I just spun my tires and completely lost traction. I had a bad angle myself so I turned around since I didn't have a spotter with me and couldn't see over my hood (Tacoma was back at the 4n16/3n17 split). At that point I didn't even both continuing because of the 2wd Tacoma. I went back down and we talked it out, and although he didn't try it, we're both convinced that the off camber part of it would prevent even a 2wd locker getting up. That's barely the beginning of the hairy stuff going up 3n17 on that end.
We circled back around to the campgrounds, and headed up 3n11, swung left on 3n17 to try the back end (right would have taken us through optional 4wd part which I already knew was a no go for 2wd). After one hill that the Tacoma barely made it up, we encountered yet another steep hill with some gnarly rock gardens in the middle of it. At that point we decided that it probably wasn't going to be doable in 2wd locked.
Now going back and looking at the maps on my computer, I'm seeing 3N92 which also leads to White Mountain. Maybe @GVL can chime in here, but I don't remember seeing a turnoff for it otherwise I'm pretty sure we likely would have checked it out. I have no idea if that's 2wd friendly or not.
So pretty much this run ,even the easier portion, is not gonna be doable in 2wd?
That sucks, i don't remember the first portion being that bad, otherwise I would have recommend a different route. Oneluv13T4R what are your thoughts I don't want to leave anyone out but if this route isn't gonna work...? I'm sure anyone 4wd will be cool with copilots but that's def not as fun...what say you brotha
Short of a scout of 3N93 in 2wd, I'm not sure. Hopefully Tim will chime in and let us know about 3N93. We started to head up 3N19 which Juan (the Tacoma) said headed up towards another lookout and he's done in his Tacoma. It's a loop off 3N16, but we took a break at that point, looked at the time, and decided to try to find out way out. I know Quatre Coureur mentioned another potential route for the 2wd as well as leading a group of the 4wd guys through some more difficult stuff.
The routes I spoke of earlier(3N93,2N06X)are both tough black diamond trails. 4wd only! A good 2x route could be 3N16 all the way to the east end of BB lake then come back to GVL via 2N13...
