Andrew, received my handheld ham yesterday but the programming cable won't be here in time for the run. Is this thing useless without the cable or will I still be able to use it for the run

Drove 2N02 from Rimrock to Baldwin Lake yesterday. No surprises, the tiny stream crossings are dry. Don't think I have ever seen 30 rigs together up here.

Lots of trails, springs, and old cabins in the Burns Canyon area. Fun chit to explore while waiting for the lead groups to get out ahead of the next group. This is before 2N61, so any that are bypassing 2N61 could choose to use the extra time here.

Up by Rose Mine, the turn off for 2N90 (Tip Top) that Miah listed, leads to a great view, cool trail to the north, and a small structure that is neat to check out.

I haven't signed up for this run. I do plan on being at Pappy & Harriet's Saturday morning to eye f**k all the cool 4Runners.

thanks for making a pre-run & posting the videos! i'm looking forward to it... gonna be my last run with the crew before i'm locked down for a few months

What's funny brotha, is that nobody know this yet but those sections and video clip parts are just the baby sections there's a whole lot more I have videoed and a couple of the sections are like...'get your balls out boys show um if ya got um"
But don't tell anyone I think I will keep it a suprise.

Are sure about that cause last I checked you were signed up? Double check that roster..eye fuking isn't free, you have to wheel to check out the sex appeal.

I have a CB and was wondering the same thing. Should I buy a Baofeng?

As an extra/spare I just picked up a brand new Baofeng GT-3 Mark II handheld Radio complete kit with all the bells and whistles and accessories if anyone will need to use it. I think [MENTION=123332]Drunner97[/MENTION] has this same radio and he likes it with no issues.

I also have my other Baofeng BF-F8HP+ as a extra/spare if anyone needs to use it. It's my glitcher it will do what it wants sometimes or talk to you in different languages then back to normal, or it will allow to listen to everything but not let you transmit/respond, and will tell you the battery is low when it's full. It gets the job done, hahaha

Other than the fact that I left it on all night and it was dead the next day, I dig it. The 8w helps with range when I'm in the back of the pack. Only issue I had was that the USB cable that came with mine wouldn't work with the chirp software and I had to buy a legit cable for programming.

Absolutely buy the baofeng. It is still nice to have both. Some runs you go on will require cb, plus if your baofeng takes a dump you always have a backup form of communication. The cb with an outboard antenna will have a slightly larger range than a Handheld baofeng radio, but audio quality is much worse. I still monitor both. So if someone needs help and calls it over the cb we will be there. Most of the fun trash talking will be on the ham frequency so it will make your trip more entertaining. Also even more entertaining, if [MENTION=117408]Oneluv13T4R[/MENTION] ever gets stuck and needs to be strapped, everyone get your phones out and start recording. I hear he really likes that.
