I believe you. With each run I am seeing just how capable it is. I was happy with my 4th gen but the 5th gen has gone further then I could have imagined.

^ This. stock clearance is going to be fine for most of things you're going to go through, and if you need a spotter or can't figure out the line, just call it out on the radio. All of my (aftermarket) skid plate damage is from not caring about my line, haha. The bumper scratches though, no clue where those came from.

Wish I could do that prerun Friday since I'm going to miss the main event, but no way I can get out there by 3pm.

Yes you can work a lil faster or get some of your Friday's work done over the next couple days. You don't need to pack up your rig with much if anything but a few basics and put that in there Thursday night so when you get off or done early from work just drive straight out and I will have an ice cold beverage waiting for you. Soda that is, lol.

I wish it was that easy, hahah. Currently in the middle of a reporting crisis that likely isn't going to fix itself before Friday and there are currently senior directors involved in the issue that are waiting to get paid their commissions and deliver their reports (based on my reports) to upper management. Even if everything went smoothly, I'd still be stuck at work too long to make it out there by 3pm on a Friday afternoon.

Good, cause this is the reason why we do these pre runs, cause its not for my health, not to get away from my family or to feed my trail addiction (partially) It's check trail conditions for damaging obstacles, unsafe sections, and potential issues for any type of 4Runner rather it be 4wd or 2wd a veteran or newbie but most of all to make sure our stock rig guys can make it through to enjoy the trails and views without any to minimal issues in your fully capable 4Runner's. These meets and runs allow you to see,use and feel what off road machine these 4runners are, safely. Their only limit is you.

And if I thought anywhere on that trail 2N61Y would be and issue for anyones rig, that would be the first thing I would have posted as to what the rig requirements would be to do that trail successfully and then notified [MENTION=77357]85straight[/MENTION] to find another route.

Yeah my plan was for Father's Day, but my daughter I know is not gonna want to go wheeling with me...even though it's Father's Day (Our Day) to do what we want, right? Hahaha

I'm just kicking it until they decide they don't need me anymore and offer me a severance package. The company is pretty awesome though. I have great benefits, tons of time off, and they pay me pretty well to read T4R and TW all day. Fortunately this isn't my problem to either fix or handle, and someone else will get yelled out long before it even comes close to trickling down to me.

I may still try to make it Friday if things get situated in the next two days, I'm due for an afternoon off and if I can get my mom to babysit Friday afternoon/night it just might happen.

Hahaha, yep. Got me totally thinking about how I can make it happen. "Mom, can you watch Robbie Friday afternoon/night, you know, for father's day?" hahahah. I'd actually bring him with me, but they're on a field trip Friday and won't be back until 5.

I don't know your skill level as a driver but if your inexperienced it will take a while to hit your vehicles limits...much longer than it will to hit your limits and keep pushing them and learning

Well my previous experience was an 89 F250 on 35s and a 96 chevy stepside But I feel it's a very different learning curve here. I'm loving every bit of this and constantly doing research. Based on the vehicle and type of trails are here in California ( I'm from St. Louis). I consider myself inexperienced.

Completely agree, my thoughts exactly ...I'm still trying to find a spot where I "need" to upgrade to a 4wd rig to justify owning one. HAHAHAHA

California's terrain is unique in its self cause it changes drastically in small areas you can come across 5 or more completely different terrain surfaces and find yourself in awe and how cool it's is or find yourself in a pickle quickly cause your rig isn't geared/set up for that certain terrain or sudden situation.
Why wheeling alone around here isn't good ..

Well today I learned that it takes way longer to take the gas tank skid off and put it back on than to beat it back in place. :smash:

Rolling over that boulder at the mines really caved it in. The front skid took a beating as well but hey, that's what they are there for.

I have to say trying to find a place to camp on Saturday has been rather difficult. I'm trying to find a spot at big bear for after the run? I was able to reserve a spot at Pioneertown for Friday. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas? It would be much appreciated.
