Time for an update... list is updated and new images added at the threads end. New to the 4runner crowd. I just bought this 2nd Gen after a couple years of no wheeling. Time to start a build :bravo:

3.slow, 5 spd, 4.56 gearing, 32's

This isn't a rock crawler, but rather just a fairly capable comfortable weekend toy. Any suggestions are welcome.

The parts plan:
Rocky Road Sliders
Addicted Offroad Bumpers
XRC8 Winch... not yet installed
Aussie locker for rear... not yet installed, I'm still on the fence
Yaesu 8800
Midland 510XL
Roof Rack
Line Lockers... not yet installed

Here she is on her maiden voyage. Does this look like the stock ride height? It measure 22 1/2 axle to trim rear, 22 1/4 front. I need a new interior trim for the sunroof control, is that a parts yard thing or do you guys have an online source? Also for new front arm rests as mine are cracked. Everything else is so clean it's amazing.

Sounds like a solid plan, azshtr! Welcome to the forum. Just a suggestion--might want to downsize your pics a bit (LOL). Truck looks great!
 
Sounds like a great plan! Not much different than my 2nd gen. I've done or am in the process of doing most of the same mods. it's a very capable rig.
 
The work begins

I downsized the original photo for those challenged by size:)

After working Saturday for a good 6 hours I achieved:

Install of the Rocky Road Sliders and Addicted Offroad Rear Bumper. The first slider was a b**ch. It was just a tad tight so out came the power tools, and swearing, and not looking forward to side 2. Next up was side 2 of the slider install which was a piece of cake. Lesson learned was this: The body sits off center from the frame, just enough to have been a pain. So, side 1 was a tight, but side 2 was fine. I could have loosened all the body mounts shifted the body but by the time I discovered the issue I had already done the mods and work to instal side 1. I wasn't redoing that again. Install of the rear bumper was easy. Remove a TON of bolts and disassemble the rear, remove old hitch hardware, instal new bumper. The side support pieces still need to be welded on but that's next weekend when the front bumper goes on since it will need welding as well.

End result was no change in ride height, but a huge difference in rear angle clearance.

Next up: Front Bumper and winch. 3 new radios... Stereo, CB, Ham

I agreed about the rear angle! Once the stock bumper somes off, it makes a huge difference. You are going to want to reposition your tail pipe. It is very exposed after the bumper comes off (experience talking).
 
With the AOR rear bumper, what do you have to weld? I was under the impression that it bolts in to the old hitch mounts. I'll be getting one as well as their sliders in the coming months. Already have the front.

The bumper itself just bolts on. There is a brace kit that goes from the extensions on the side to the frame. This is an extra cost item but I would say a must do. Those sides are way forward without support. I hope my front bumper comes this week (HINT: ADDICTED OFF ROAD IF YOUR READING THIS, SHIP MY GOODIES!!!) so I can weld both front and back at the same time.

Did you take it to a shop for bending or?
 
Took some new images on an outing last week to the cabin.

It's a build in progress but it's getting there.

Hard to see but I had the exhaust tucked up tight... I guess that's why it is hard to see :)

Still have a winch to get mounted and LED flood lights to add to the bumper.

Rack was made by Whitson Metalworks (highly recommended) here on this forum. I used LED lights. I wasn't sure I would like them but they are great and very low draw. 2 Spots facing forward and 1 flood lighting the rear.
