Hey All,
I have been able to solve alot of problems with the help of this forum so let me thank you all for help in the past!! But of course there is always something to do so with this thread im going to show you all i have done and i all i need/want to do.

I have a 1989 4-runner V6 SR5 with 211,000 Km's on it... I bought this in january on ebay its originally from canada (reason for Km's instead of miles)

it made the trip back from south texas with no problem and after having it a week the problems started to come in... first with a fuel leak at the cold start injector line, replaced... fuel leak continues turns out the idiot who had it before me got the return and vent lines switched at the fuel tank, which has been switched back... then on the 150 mile drive to my parents house in houston busted a leak in the rubber fuel line not sure if it was the return or delivery but i replaced both... also while at home i changed the upper and lower radiator hoses and flushed the radiator... ripped out the rear heater and looped the coolant line at the fire wall... Replaced the shocks all the way around with KYB gas-a-just shocks... pretty sure the original shocks were still on there...

What does this? the thing with the black cap. There is what looks like a vaccum line that isnt connected to anything and looks like its supposed to connect to that black cap somewhere. Underneath that black cap is a sponge and it is saturated with something not sure if that is correct

Here is a picture of some of my custom work so far... after removing the 20 year old plastic i traced them onto a piece of plywood and mounted them using some self-tapping screws... also was a able to add some 6x9 speakers

over spring break i plan to replace the panels near the back seat with plywood and then i will cover it all with marine grade vinyl... should last me a long time... Along with adding the herculiner in the rear

In this spot im going to build a center console out of plywood and cover that with more vinyl... also take a look at my custom cardboard floormats!

I want to do something about the bumpers they are pretty rusty and bent up does anyone have any low budget solutions other than dropping 1,000 dollars on an ARB... Anyone had success on making their own??

That cap with that 3 letters is the egr vaccum solenoid. Rockauto sells them for a decent price. A quick way to test if it's bad is to suck on the bottom tube, it should be a sealed diaphram. If it allows air to pass, it's bad.

As for the bumpers, there are plenty of tube style bumpers online. Check out trail-gear.com for cheap options.

Stock bumpers are also pretty cheap, check Ebay. What it looks like you need from here...a donor vehicle! Seems you have about half of an interior.
Your EGR filter is like a sponge because, well the filter is full of water, time to replace that or try and dry it out without fraying it into 40 or 50 cotton balls. As far as your hose connection to the EGR, you should have a sticker on the underside of the hood that will show you where to connect to the letters labeled on the EGR sticker.

Thanks for all the replies!! I should be able to get my hands dirty this weekend when i will be in houston... From houston originally but go to school in san marcos (150 miles west of houston)... i will see what i can do about the EGR filter now that i know what it is!! thanks for that... Another problem im having is the drivers side window guide has a huge hole in it which makes it extremely noisey on the road and leaks all in the interior when it rains. I call it a window guide its the rubber piece that keeps the window on track... not sure what it is really called but i cant find it online anywhere... went to the local toyota dealership today and since my 4runner was originally imported into canada the VIN cant be searched in their system... the guy was a jerk aswell so i didnt feel like dealing with him... anyone know of a place to get this other than toyota? alone with the rear window seal that goes along the tailgate?

I ordered my rear window weatherstripping (online) from a dealer in Texas, they were very helpfull. If I can find an email from them I will let you know who they were.

Sorry, I never could find a receipt or email from the dealer where I bought the weatherspripping from. All I can remember was they were in a town called Heartville, or Heartdale or Heartland or somesuch and I believe they were in east Texas.
