So I found a 1990 4runner last week and finally got around to posting. I have some pictures, but I'll post them later.
The rear window is completely gone and the tailgate is in bad shape, so I am in the hunt for a replacement unit. The whole tailgate is taken apart, so I'm assuming they were trying to fix the motor. I have the spare tire carrier, so I don't know if it is even possible to convert to the other spare tire type or if it's worth the hassle. I'm having a hard time finding a replacement tailgate.
All the other power windows worked when I bought it, except for the rear passenger, I could put it down from the driver's seat, but to go back up, you had to do it from rear passenger door. But now, it fixed itself and works both ways, but now my rear driver's side window doesn't work at all. So I probably need to pull the window switches and clean them up.
I may have a ground issue as well. When I change the brightness of the display, it kind of blinks like it has a bad connection. The light behind the ac controls is out as well. Fans work, heat works, but ac does not. The light doesn't come on, so I'm hopping it's something electrical. Any help here would be appreciated.
Needs new front brakes, cv's and a new idler arm. Oh, and it's leaking from the valve cover, so I have to address that too.
