Just bought 4Runner

Hi all,

Just purchased a 2003 4Runner, Sport, V8, 4WD. Love it!

Has 58K miles on it, great shape. I made the Toyota dealer I got it from put a brand new Timing Belt/Water pump before I would drive it off the lot.

I will have a bunch of questions, proud to be a part of the Forum

BTW, I traded in my Titan 2wd. It was a great truck but I wasn't to confident on these ND winter roads in 2wd

Sounds like a nice ride, wish I had the v8 4wd sport instead of the v6 2wd limited, but I'm still very pleased with mine!

There is plenty of info here and a ton of helpful members so don't be afraid to ask!

Where in ND are you? I'm in Minot. I've had my '03 limited v8 since Oct last year, absolutely love it...traded in my '02 Tundra 2wd on it. this is my first 4wd vehicle and it's pretty freaking awesome. You'll grow to love it...only bad part is the gas mileage.

Minot. SW side near Ryan Chevy. Yes so glad I got the V8 and the full time 4wd is awesome on the roads. I do a lot of dirt biking and I'll pull my trailer to places now I wouldn't dream of doing in the 2wd Titan.

Post up some pics!! Do some research on some trouble areas in the 4th generation 4runners. The biggest thing I can tell you about is the drivetrain "bump". Thats one that got me right off the bat. Luckily with a little bit of reading and a dash of grease it has completely gone away.

If you feel a "bump" when stopping or starting from a complete stop, its time to grease that driveshaft!! I had it happen to me the day I bought it, hasnt come back since.

Yeah buddy! There arent many of us in the 4Rum with 03's with the textured gray body moldings, but im onew of the few. A 2003-ONLY styling! Im in the process of replacing the rear moldings cuz they havesome scratches on em. I found a place online that sells em, so if you need anything thats 2003-specific, hit me up!

Yes, I haven't seen many with the colored molding. It's what caught my eye. Will do if I need anything specific.
