Hey I just bought a 95 4runner while down in LA, I had my girlfriend drive it home for me and about half the way there the oil temp light came on. She pulled over and I checked the oil and it looked fine, a little low but fine. I thought it might have overheated coming over the hill which is normal in some older cars so we waited and drove it home. We found out on the way home that the speedo was way off and the odometer doesn't move at all. The seller didn't inform me of this and when we test drove it in LA never noticed the odometer didn't work. Well long story short we pulled into our neighborhood and we got out of the car to take a look and noticed that antifreeze was pouring out of the bottom of the car. I looked and the radiator had blown a hole the size of 2 quarters in the middle of it. This is a full aluminum radiator that the previous owner before the guy I bought it from had installed. At this point I was irritated but only about the odometer not working. I worked out with the guy to either get my money back and I'll pay to get it trailered back to LA or I'll have him send me some money to get it repaired.
My questions is, what are some causes to have it blow like that? The car seems to run fine and I'd like to keep it. I payed 2200 for the car and the odometer says 108,000. He told me after I got off the phone with them that they did take it to a dealer and the mileage didn't get rolled back. What should I do?
