Just got a 03 and have some questions.

So I picked up a 03 SR5 today and it has a few minor issues.

1. Rear window does not work.

2. The previous owner swapped the seats from a 07 4Runner and the electric seats don't work. He said I could get the seat frame from a 03 and swap the frames. But wondering if i can just wire in the current seats.


3. The steering is really tight at idle, frees up once you get going. Fluid is full.

You mean the hatch window?

Does the wiper wipe and fluid squirt?

Do you hear the motor in the back?

There's probably a fuse for it.

If you pop the hatch plastic panel the motor wires easily disconnects for testing.

Is the power steering pump whining at all?

If it turns out that you need a power steering pump and you have the V6, let me know. I replaced mine and it turned out that there was nothing wrong with it. It was an idler pulley making the sound, not the PS pump so I have an extra one that I would be willing to part with.

Check and make sure the window lock button on the door isn't pressed... otherwise it won't go down... made that mistake once... wife played with buttons a few days later, and wala! rear window worked just fine...

Is the power steering pump whining at all?

No the pump is not whining. Just seems like it does not like the low RPS.
