Just got a new Instrument Cluster Lens

I just got an instrument cluster lens for my 06 4Runner from 1sttoyotaparts.com for 17.90 Normal list price is $29.70. The cost to replace the lens is less than buying the Novus plastic scratch remover

The install is fairly straight forward. I downloaded the PDF's with the instructions.

The new one is not scratch resistant. I will just be very cautious on how I clean the new one going forward

i know I am using a very soft cloth to clean my cluster lens and just to find out that its all scratched up. what the **ck?

The plastic that they used for the lenses is REALLY soft and scratches at nothing...including microfiber cloths

Do you have that part #, it comes up on their website but with no price so I didn't think u could get one or it could be that cheap.....I use them for parts all the time.....Great Prices!!!

I wonder if we could install window tint (not limo tint though) on the plastic to avoid the scratches. It might look good too, like some of the tinted Lexus and Infiniti clusters.

My thoughts exactly , maybe a 50% 70% or as light as I could get. Actually I think a light gray tine in there would kinda look cool. I'm you get a tint place to use some scrap pc. to put on fairly cheap.

Dude that idea kicks ass!!! My cluster in my Ram is kinda swirl marked, you dont see it unless you're in the right light, but it does bug me that I am very careful when cleaning it, and it still scratches to hell. I think I'ma try the tint thing in my Ram later this fall.

I have to pull the entire dash out since the upper half is cracking into pieces and dissintegrating more everyday, so when I have the dash out, I may have a tint place put on some super light tint film and see how it looks.

yeah, mine is FUBAR thanks to wiping it down with a soft cloth. I guess it wasn't soft enough.

I have been using the cleaning bag for my Oakley sunglasses for a while to wipe the lenses down without any window cleaner or solvent and it has not made it any worse since I messed it up the first time.

I wish I would have know this previously....

I have had mine lens replaced 3 times under warranty but it will become my responsibly some day. Like Casper, I would like to see the pdf posted.

You mean the dealership actually replaced the lens because it was scratched? If that is true I will be taking mine out tomorrow to be replaced and asking their detail person what he cleans it with.

My cluster lens has been scratched since the first month I had my truck. Even the softest of rags I use scratches the piece. If it makes you feel better, the GX470 cluster scratches just as easy!

Cluster lens drives me nuts too. I saw a few swirl marks on the right side and touched it with my finger. Well, thats the last time i get anything near that.
Would like to see if any of you guys get it to look better.

NEVER wipe the the lens when DRY, regardless of what type of cloth. ALWAYS wet the lens and softy wipe it with a microfiber cloth.

Damn Carwash

The carwash sprayed some chemical on my cluster lens and scratched it pretty good and so I ordered another cluster Lens
