Well, I pulled the trigger a couple of hours ago...

Galactic Grey Sport Edition V6 2WD
- moonroof/deflector
- tint
- leather
- spoiler
- some other extras but nothing major

I negotiated, haggled, and fax quoted all over town, and I am very happy with my driveout. I'm happy that the whole process is over since I had to do it during my free time at work. Thought about 4WD and V8 but decided against it, one for price of course, and two because I'd just be doing city driving. First mods are going to be the valor tip, obx pedals, and lights. Hope to later add MP3 head unit, steering wheel audio mod, and maybe ipod connection.

I'll be reading through the manual tonight, getting ready for pickup day. What should I look for before I drive off the lot? I examined the 4 before I signed the papers, but would like extra feedback. Will post pics this weekend if it doesn't rain...

Welcome to the board. Hope you enjoy your new truck. Post some pictures when you get a chance!
 
Before you take delivery, check everything (again). Look for scratches and/or small dents, check for any of the known common defects (do a search) and/or anything else you might not be happy to discover 10 minutes after you drive it off the lot. If there is ANYTHING you don't like, don't take delivery until they fix it.

Congrats on the truck. Too bad about your Rockets though. :D

Congrats on the new purchase man!!

Go over it with a fine tooth comb. Ask to test drive it again even. Make sure all the accessories have been included. Don't sign the papers until you are fully satisfied.

You're gonna love it. We try, but it's hard to go over a vehicle @ a dealership thoroughly enough to detect everything. The full exam never seems to be as good as in the peace of your own garage @ nite :cheers: Home, sweet home.

But if you find something you had missed, assuming it is something minor, not requiring immediate attention [scratch, rattle, etc.] call the dealership 1st thing the next morn, speak to the service mgr. and have him make a note to file about anything you found. Get his name, date & time of the call, and when you do have it back, you expect them to make it good.

This is something that has worked for me. If you're not comfortable with this, gas it back to the dealer now, but I find this a time saver. I do not have time to hang @ the dealer for something minor.

Welcome to the board, and congrads on your purchase. I usually in the Houston area, and I also have a Galactic gray V8 Sports. So honk if you see me passing by, I will be the one with the Hilux Surf emblems.
 
I am a Knick fan, but we did not have much of a chance against the Nets. Well, I am now rooting for the Nets even though they beat my team. I have a lot of respect for the way they play and feel they should finally win a championship. Also, I live in Jersey!
 
Yeah, I would go over it fine toothed comb. If you have a sunroof, make sure that it doesn't rattle, or that the engine doesn't make any noises as well. Test drive it with the windows down, so that you could hear the engine. Look out for any other rattling as well. Other than that, congrats.

The Lakers aren't playing well so I don't know if they have enough to get by the Spurs. Either way, the next champion will be coming from this match-up. Nets, Pacers, and Kings don't really stand a chance. It's good to see that people in those areas still have hope though. :cool:

It's getting hot up here in Btown. I actually have just been living here for only 9 months, originally from...you guessed it, Sacramento.

I sort of agree on your take on the NBA. I do think that the SA-LA series will determine the champs, but if any west team, other than LA, and IN make the finals, then it's up in the air. IN wouldn't have anyone to contain Shaq. No Team is really playing well right now, except for SA. But, nevertheless, my Kings made it to the 2nd round, so I'm still hoping for another SAC-LA Western Conf. Finals. That would be EPIC.

I will be going to my first Nascar experience this Sun. in Fontana. I'm not really a big fan, but I hear it's nothing like watching it on TV. Should be a great time.

Hope you enjoy the race. Ear protection is a must. If you don't own, maybe you could borrow a set of "ears" like shooters use.
The ear-muff radios are really good to have also, cuz it's hard to tell wots going on. I also use the [internal] soft earplugs at the same time, but mostly go to NASCAR short tracks. They are brutally loud. You'll have a blast. Wave to us!

Nascar at Fontana is the closest approximation I've seen to the Btown experience. :D CART at Fontana (before CART tuned to crap) was more my thing. These days, I've more or less given up being a racing fan.

cool, if you see a near identical car honk at you, then that's probably me (especially if on 59)...
