Just ordered a Trail Premium w/KDSS

There have been conflicting posts about that elsewhere, not sure if it's a regional thing, but I wouldn't call them liars yet.

Dealer just called! ITS IN! first on the list...tires and wheels....window tint...weather techs and remote start...pics to come!

I can 100% confirm that I can special order any combination package I want in my region from my friend's Toyota dealership. No reason to B.S. me. It's special order directly from Toyota - and they can track the build and shipment until it reaches the dealership lot. My guess is your dealer simply doesn't want to do the special order.
 
Congrats and enjoy. I received my 2013 in Sept of 2012 and now I have 30K on it No problems, still very happy with it.

About 5 hours after shutting it off you will hear a small motor sound from the rear and immediately after shutting it off it will make a gasping sound, like and old guy. It's all OK and not a problem. It's part of the fuel evap/emmissions system.

Complete rust proofing/undercoating done by "Zeibart" with 10 year warranty.
Thule crossroads complete rack system.

That's how she is gonna sit for a while....(promised the wife no lift)

[MENTION=91899]Jhalko[/MENTION] is right, i dealt with the same issue in the "gulf states region". The distributor for all the dealers in the gulf states region only gets certain vehicles with certain options, for example i tried to order a trail edition with KDSS before i bought my used runner and it was HELL. they led me to believe they didnt want my money and even said "you will have to go somewhere else, nobody can get one". if you want something specific venture out of the gulf states region. the mountainous regions seem to have many more trail editions, so look elsewhere and plan to drive it home if it is what you want.

Yeah, come out west. My TE was one of four on the lot the day I bought mine and they all had KDSS. I do remember 4Rs being scarce when I lived in the midwest, though.

(Admittedly, as I understand it, my dealer is one of the biggest in the nation, so YMMV)

He's trying to be funny by poking fun at all the people here that wish they had bought KDSS by bashing those who did....

I'm with [MENTION=115953]HerT4R[/MENTION]. Stuck in the gulf states region (OK), one of the dealers I went to didn't know what KDSS was! Needless to say, I don't even trust them with service. The other "local" dealer had just sold the last one they had with KDSS, and said it would be 5+ months to get one ordered and have it show up. So I went online and bought one that showed in stock out of Bozeman MT. It was actually still on the ship headed over, but they had it within 2 weeks, and it took another week to have it shipped down to me.
