Just picked up another 4runner.

Nice, that motor looks good, was it used or a reman? I was gonna do the same thing to my tacoma, clean the engine bay while the motor was out, but i figured after the first trip to the trails it wouldn't look pretty for too long. I did clean the oil residue from the old engine's oil leak from the engine bay and front diff.

Went to work today and put the my recently purchased runner on the lift and this is what i found. I did drive it to the park today with my dog and it still drives fine.

I listed it on Ebay with the same frame rust pics that i posted here along with many other pics and a detailed describition with a $2200 buy it now and it sold in just 7 minutes. Gotta love toyota's!

The buyer contacted me today. He's from New York, i told him i could hold it until the weekend if that would be easier for him but he wants to pick it up tomorrow. I have'nt been paid yet but he has 6 pages of 100% positive feedback so i think he's a serious buyer. I told him i prefer cash upon pick up.

My bro lives in NY and that truck is going to meet more conditions that made it that way. Wow, boy do they have some rust in the Oneonta area--trucks driving by with the side of the bed flapping in the breeze. Good luck to the next guy--but you gave him/her pictures of what's up, so they know what they are getting into. I'm just glad that someone didn't drop 5g's and then find out about this rust issue. The buyer paid me $2200 cash, put on his dealer tag and is driving it to a port in N.J. today. He's shipping it to Nigeria.

Someone I know who shops eastern auctions says that a lot of them are going to the middle east. There are people making big $ on this.

The guy says he ships alot of toyota trucks. He don't care about condition or mileage as long as it has a clear title and runs/drives.

Every time a 3rd Gen pops up for sale in the northeast for under $3000 I'm pretty sure it's that same guy that is buying them. I called to see two high mile 3rd Gens and by the time I called they literally told me that a guy bought them to ship to Africa. They must be very profitable over there considering the interchangeability of Prado and Hilux parts.

I have a dealership in ohio. You wouldn't believe the stupid money these 4runners go for at auction. The more miles the better. Black is the money maker color. I've personally shipped two to Africa. Got paid what I was asking $5500 plus $1800 freight. Guy who bought it said they go up words of $10k+ overseas. Camrys are even better! It's a lot of work to ship the vehicle overseas..

I had a 1996 4runner come in on trade. Transmission was slipping, body was decent. 329k miles. I gave the customer $900 for it. Figured I would fab up a plow and use it as a lot plow truck which I did. Made it thru the winter then come spring, I took it to the auction to liquidate some inventory. That thing went for $2700 without the plow and transmission slipping which was disclosed. Foreign guy bought it and sure enough, export papers were in the mail within a couple days.
