So far I'm loving them! I'm currently at 35psi. What psi do you recommend for regular driving??? They are C rated.

I just switched from 265/70 KO's (Load C) to 285/70's KO's (Load D). I ran the 265/70-C's at 42-44psi for the first 5000-6000 miles and I can tell you I had center wear big time from running too much air. I'd run those 265/70's at 38psi. They'll survive at 35psi, but that is the MINIMUM I'd run any LT tire.

While 35 is a tad more cushy, when you jerk the wheel back and forth, you can really feel them squishing - felt much better at 38psi for me.

Any input either way? I'm running 40psi F/R with LT265/70R17 C Load All-Terrains on my SR5, and still feel like I could go to 42-44psi - but I'm not looking to burn up my new $1K tires.

I've literally been through 6-8 sets of All-Terrains over my years (32x12.5x15) - and I generally ran them @ 35psi or less and consistently got 50-60K from them. My previous Toyotas had much stiffer suspensions than my "cushy" '13 SR5, so I was more than happy with the handling from my old rides @ 35psi.

Even at 40psi, my '13 SR5 is VERY squishy. I know swapping to Bilstein 5100's will help (on my list), but will going to 42-44psi lessen the slop w/o accelerating center-wear?

Big time center wear visible after 6000 miles would imply pressure way out of whack. Too far out of whack for a 5psi reduction to fix.

I don't know what happened, but it sounds very odd. Were those nearly all highway miles and did you check only the rear tires? Was it confirmed with a tread depth gauge?

Yep. As you add more air, the contact patch becomes narrower because the tire balloons out, increasing wear in the centre. Same deal if you run too little air - you will start to notice uneven wear due to cupping.
 
Why do people choose 38psi? I don't understand why people don't run 44-45psi to carry same weight and probably better gas mileage. Can anyone else confirm center wear at 45psi?
 
Tire size, vehicle weight, and driving conditions determine how much pressure to run... If you run 35 psi in stock size tires you can expect to run less in a larger tire under normal driving conditions and no change in vehicle weight

And don't forget about Load Range / Sidewall construction and how it affects a tire's load carrying capability ;) (LT C and E need a good deal more pressure than the stock P tires that came on our T4R's to carry an equivalent load).

I'm still @ 40psi on my 265/70R17 BFG AT "C Load", but might creep up to 42psi or so as that puts them about equal with the stock "P" tires' load carrying capability @ 35psi...

For sure... Good point... It's easy to monitor tire wear... And easy to adjust pressure... I just can't stand noobs that read max pressure on the sidewall and assume that's where it needs to be
 
How is your tire wear?
I've only got approx 3,000 Miles on them (only have 6,300 total on the truck), but so far so good. I might try the chalk trick for grins, but I can see a slight convex curve on the tread face @ 40psi.
