Does anyone have them on their rides? By that I mean just a plane ole highway tire, not All terrains, not MTA, just highway treads? Id be curious to see some pics and what kind of tire they are...
I researched this last year and ordered the Michelin highway tire to complement the Blizzaks I run in winter. Unfortunately, I can't give a review or picks because the dealer installed Michelin AT tires...after a brief protest and a sizable discount I was driving away without the tire the wife requested -- she wanted quiet with less roughness. The Mich AT must be quiet enough, she hasn't complained!
I currently have Kumho Ecsta tires, a highway tire and also seems to be doing fine in the rain, although I cannot speak for the snow as I live in Florida. They are very quiet on the road and ride nicely.
I did not choose these, they were already on the truck when I bought it - just so you know. So far, I have no complaints on them.
I replaced my original Dunlop tires (complete garbage!!!) with Michelin Cross Terrains about three years ago. They are great road tires, do very well in the snow and rain (at least on a full time 4WD Runner) and ride very smootly and quietly. They have been discontinued, but I would definitely purchase another set of Michelins again.
Im running the Michelin Lattitudes. Quiet as a mouse even at 85-90. Ive put 30k on them and the tread is still at 9/32. Ive never had tires wear this good.
I am on my second set of Yokohama Geolanders on mine. I had a couple of sets of the Kumho Ecsta tires, that Snowbird has, and they were good too, but didn't seem to last as long. I wish i was about to buy a new set so i could get a DS lift and up-size. I just bought this set (265/60r 18) about 3 months ago, so I will have to wait till they wear out before I lift........Actually, i don't mind because it rides so good as is.
I had Kumho Road Venture APTs, they were the quietest tire I have ever had on a vehicle. They were great in the dry and wet but just okay in the snow (you are in TN thus this is not a huge concern). The price is right too. I only replaced the Kumhos because I wanted an AT tire with better snow traction.
