Your truck will look badass with the CBI Johnny! I've been looking into the FROR full floater for a while too, but it's so damn pricey, it'll probably be a long time before I do that. I made some elephant ear qtr. panel hoops for my CBI like a year ago, but still haven't welded them on. You reminded me I still need to do that.

Unfortunately I'm too late on getting a rear bumper with quarter panel protection b/c both my rear quarter panels have dents already :doh: So maybe this will keep them from getting WORSE!

lol.. I don't have any kind of fixation with llamas I just thought it was a funny sig pic. Llamas are funny animals though.

Thanks. We got more snow than we bargained for. Can't say I've ever seen a foot of snow in Little Rock. There was like over 250k power outages. State went a little crazy lol.

What color WeatherTechs did you get? Great minds think alike. They were greatly needed and actually add a little style to the interior. I went with black, they match my seat covers.

So I've changed my plans up again . Looks like I'm going to hold off on the FROR Full Floater kit. I'm purchasing a used rear driver side hub with axle shaft so I can get my ebrake back as well as going to clean up both rear hubs and maybe fix them so they wont leak in the future anymore. Come tax returns I'm buying something I've wanted for a VERY VERY long time and I'm tired of waiting for someone to rear end me so I don't have to pay as much lol. Going with a CBI steel plate bumper, with swing out, and side tubing for quarter panel protection. Debating whether or not I want the single can holder. I've chatted with Nathan a little bit and I will be placing an order when I get my returns back.

In other news, looks like all that hard wheeling has caught up to me. My driver front wheel bearing is out. Tire wobbles all over the place. I figured I might as well replace the lbj and tie rods while everything is apart. Does anyone have any specs or details on what it takes to get the old bearing out and the new in? My buddy has a press but I don't know if it's going to work, and I'd like to find out first. Anyways, I think that's about it. :thumb3:

Yeah I was watching it on the news and they were saying that it was the storm of the century for you guys.

I also got black Weather Techs to match my seat covers and becuase I figured that they wouldn't show as much dirt as the tan ones.

I'm super jealous of the CBI, those bumpers are so sweet! I was torn between the the CBI rear bumper and the Shrockworks front, but I figured that the front will be more useful because I can add a winch and lights.

The LED light bar is great and I think it's worth it even if I had paid more. I have a Totron which is one of the cheaper ones but built very solid. It's been through heavy rain, hail, ice and snow, etc etc with no signs of damage or leakage. The 30" I have I got from a buddy locally who deals them. In other words, cheaper than any stores.

Those light bars are the same brand of the one I have. They are good stuff and very affordable. The owner of the site is on TacomaWorld and gets a lot of their business with many satisfied customers. I think he may have done some group buys as well. I've been wanting some of the small square 4 led lights but they only carry them in spot. I want some in amber with a fog pattern. Might have to go with Rigid for those.

Nope, I have not replaced my front wheel bearings. I'm sure there is a good write-up out there though, maybe TTORA? Let me know what you find, I know it's something I'm going to have to do in the next season or two.

Well Humpty Dumpty is put all back together. Was very much so a learning experience. More so on the figuring out how to get the spindle out. Once everything was apart the culprit to my horrible wobble was VERY VERY clear (as if I had any doubt). The existing bearing came out in pieces. All of the innards literally just fell out. Here's my suggestion to anyone tackling this front bearing job for the first time... TAKE YOUR TIME. It took us a few tries to figure out how to allow the spindle to be pressed out because you have to elevate the assembly. The easiest and by far most stable way of doing this is using a good heavy duty bearing separator and clamping it around the back side of the assembly.

here's what the bearing separator looks like

Then elevate the assembly by placing the clamped on bearing separator and assembly on two large pieces of steel, straddling the back side of the assembly. Large enough steel to allow the spindle to be pressed out from underneath. We used a couple pieces of cut roalroad tie. After that, press the spindle out and you're on to removing the old the bearing which isn't hard with right pieces. Once you get to the point of pressing the new bearing in we found it helpful to use the old bearing as a tool to help press in the new one. Don't go to far or the old will get stuck in there as well. The 12 ton press did a good job with everything. A few other speed bumps here and there, but overall the job went well. I went ahead and replaced the lower bj and inner and outer tie rods while everything was apart. I can already tell the bump steer has gone away and so has fighting the wheel to stay straight when braking on crows and crevices in the road. My brake jerk has also subsided. All that's left is to use my lifetime alignment and I'll be good to go. Now I can start saving for my next project oh yea, and I'm able to go wheelin' again! :reddance:

correct me if i'm wrong but you don't use a press to get the spindle out right? i know for my manual hubs you don't, only to get the spindle back in. i can't tell if the process is different for auto hubs.

I had to do it quickly.. The bearing was only shy of a few days before catastrophic failure. I just knew if I drove on it anymore I'd be asking for trouble. I could lift the tire off the ground to grab it and be able to wobble it in all directions. VERY BAD! I wish I had taken pictures of the multiple pieces the old bearing came out in.

The spindle requires to be pressed out to get to the bearing as well as pressed back in. I don't think there is any other way around it unless you had some special device or specific tool.

Got my new lights in today. They were suppose to come in yesterday but there was "inclement" weather. Arkansas seems to go bat $hit crazy even when .25" of snow hits, it's ridiculous. Package showed delivered and I wasn't home. Got home, no package.. "WTF?" Looked on FedEx site, "package delivered, signed for by so and so" Strange considering no one else was home when it got here and I didn't know the name that signed it. So followed my gut and went neighbor door knocking. 3 houses later... Idiot with FedEx delivered to my next door neighbor. Coincidentally she was expecting a package and signed for it. What a relief, got my package.

I ordered a pair of 3x3 16 watt cree lights in flood pattern from www.okledlightbars.com. I found the place because the owner is a member on Tacoma World. At $52 a piece, I couldn't pass them up. They're 2180 lumens each and disperse the light exactly how I wanted it to. Everything is hooked up, now I'm just waiting for the yellow vinyl tint to get here so I can wrap the lenses. My goal was to be able to use them on the road. The light output mixed with the vinyl tint should allow me to do just that. This way I can use the lights in hazardous conditions while being on the road. I also hooked them up to my fog light circuit with the built in switch on the column. I then ran a new circuit for my big light bar. As of now, I only have one spot left for a switch!

I wish $52 for the pair but it's $52 a piece.. Still a good deal though. They would probably work pretty well for back up lights as well.

Hmmm.... this is interesting. I've been wondering how to solve this problem and I can't believe I didnt think of using vinyl. Great idea! I'm stoked for you to be the test mule er' llama (lol) and then I can copy you. I really don't like the 6000K color of most of the LED's for a fog light. The vinyl should work though in making the beam less bright to oncoming traffic and also changing the output color enough to be useful in fog situations. I wonder if the Rigid Dually colored lenses would clip onto these?

Eagerly anticipating some output pics with the vinyl!
