So, I MIGHT be going to Katemcy Rocks in Mason,TX for the 10th annual LoneStar Land Cruiser Round Up, March 14th -17th. It's about a 9 hour trip! Quite a few people in my local club are going and I may take a much needed vacation to go wheelin' on some new terrain... I need to get a few things done to the runner though. It's time for the timing belt replacement and all that goes with it bc I'm bout to roll over to 170k. Want to flush the transfer case, transmission, and radiator. Change diff fluids, replace fuel filter, rear axle bearing and seals. If I order my rear bumper next month there's a chance I won't have it in time, which is a bummer. Want to get my roll bar back in so I can start building my sleep platform and tool storage around it, but don't know if I'll have enough time for that. So many things to do, not enough time!

Not quite the wait time as Shrockworks, they told me around a month.

I'm hoping at least a handful or more. I'm sure there will be a lot of different rigs there. It's the 10th annual so it's an event a lot of people won't want to miss.

CBI rear bumper is officially on order! Hopefully I get it before I leave for Katemcy in March... It's gonna be close!!



In other news, my rear u joint is out. Glad it's not the double cardan

Has anyone else replace theirs? How big of a PITA is it? I figured I'd do it myself, shouldn't be too bad.

Mine was enough of a pain that I just ended up taking the shaft to a shop and $40 later I had a new one pressed in. It took them close to 2 hours, said it was a major pain in the ass to press out.

I usually do all of my own work so I felt better about throwing in the towel on this one after they even struggled with it.

Not sure if you covered this. But where did you get those seat covers!? Those are really nice and I would totally buy a pair for my rig! Hopefully they're just covers and not actual seats...

I do too, and I have a friend that usually helps me on a lot of my Toyota work. I'm pretty sure he's done this service a time or two. Hell, maybe he has all the specific tools to make it easier. I ordered the part, should be here later this week and I can get it fixed early next week.

Thanks! Only thing I'm worried about is their modification for the 2" body lift and it being crooked lol.

Thanks, I love the way it looks. There are a few others on here with the same scheme. I copied off of them

They're the full piping option, black seats with dark brown piping. TRD logos on the fronts along with the pockets on the back on both.

I'm pretty sure it's the same one that's on CBI's website under scratch and dent. But why would the old alignment issue explain it trying to be sold?

It's still a hell of a deal.. I'm surprised it's lasted this long. I'm sure someone will scoop it up when tax returns start to come out.


So I ordered mine bare metal. Does anyone have any suggestions on how or what to paint it with? I'm going with black but what brand holds up the best? I thought about maybe using a bed liner material but the front ARB is just plain black pc'd, so I don't know how well that will look. I'm also thinking of buying a can of paint instead of can spray and renting a spray gun to shorten the process.

I'll preface this by saying I suck at body work , BUT I have used several brands of DIY bedliner and am not 100% happy with any of them. All of the professional coatings I've seen look much nicer. If it were me on a high dollar bumper I'd probably have it PC'd, or if I knew I was gonna beat it up, just rattle can it so touchups are easy and cheap, honestly I doubt the DIY bedliners are gonna hold up to dragging rocks much better than any other coating.

Just my completely amateur opinion.

Thanks for the tips. I don't think I'm going to bed-line it. It wont match anything. A friend of mine has a good friend that has a car shop and does powder coating. He said he'd do it for $100 which isn't bad at all. Although, It will be seeing trips in the rocks so damage is possible. I'll probably just end up spraying painting it.
