After being away from 4x4's and wheeling for several years, I finally decided to purchase a 4Runner and build it up. Part of the decision was driven by a recent home purchase in the Tahoe Basin, and partly because I needed to replace my luxury cross-over with a snow capable BIG dog hauling SUV.

Already ordering parts for the modifications, basic list as follows:

Icon Stage 7 Lift w/3" rear coils
Pelfrey Built Pro (steel) front bumper w/Warn 10s
ShrockWorks sliders
ShrockWorks rear bumper w/tire carrier
Gobi roof rack and ladder
Off-grid dual battery kit
HID HI and Lo Beams
30" LED Bar in front bumper
40" LED Bar on roof
New tires (possible wheels) under consideration

So, here she is stock from the dealer...be adding a temp Thule roof rack for my kayak until the Gobi arrives:

You could have gone with a Off Road Premium and saved thousands, if you were going to replace the suspension, wheels and tires.
Truck looks good though. Congrats!

Congrats on the new purchase. When you say new house in Tahoe do you mean on the face of a mountain, because damn your shopping list makes me thing you are going somewhere where a stock Pro can't get to? Looking forward to the build either way! May I ask what your previous luxury suv was prior to the 4runner?

jacksparrow: Again - kinda an impulse buy. In retrospect, wish I'd found a Off-Road Premium (for the sun roof), but not unhappy with the truck as a whole.

Wadle5: Yes - new home will be a challenge to get to (they call it Incline Village for a reason). Luxury cross was a Cayenne Turbo. Wonderful car - other than several sensor/CPU gremlins, and poor behavior in snow. Plus didn't really have enough room to haul my 85lb Golden and 145lb Newfie in.

UPDATE: Most of my Icon suspension arrived yesterday, as did my interior LEDs. Pelfrey was ready to ship my bumper too, but I had them hold it due to a family vacation. Once I get it, I'll be off to the powder coat shop to get it coated white.

First mod completed - stock dim-yellow bulbs removed and PrecisionLED interior lights added. MUCH better!

Just for comparison sake, here's the trunk lights "mid-swap" - I really like the LED look, and had even done it to my '97 Land Cruiser.

Still searching for a shop to install my Icon lift. Hoping Relentless will consider if I purchase some of their armor (skid plates). In the meantime, it's been like Christmas with all the parts arriving. Front bumper and battery cages are off to the powder coater tomorrow. Truck gets 3M paint protection and window tinting 8/26. While waiting, added the canvas cargo protection to the rear, and let the dogs check it out.

So, yesterday I started installing my dual battery kit, after getting my parts back from the powder coater. Now finding a type 27 replacement for the stock location and a 31 for my aux location.

I got serious on my build today...off came the front bumper/fascia and I got my Pelfrey front bumper test fit. Looks great, except I think I got the white too pure - a little more yellow in our Super White than I thought. I'm going to bolt it up tight and ponder a few days. Might come back off and get coated black after all (I have to get the truck to Reno for the suspension install in about a week and don't think they could get the bumper re-coated on time).

Anyone interested in the stock front bumper - obo plus shipping from Redding, CA?

Lots of progress...

Got my Pelfreybilt front bumper back from the powder coater and installed. The black looks much better, IMHO (didn't help the white didn't match). Warn 10-s Plat winch and Baja LED's mounted, but wiring still in progress - both the basics and trying to decide if I'll go Bussman box or Switch Pro. Also did some serious trimming of my fender liners.

Lastly, the final pieces of my Icon lift arrived and got the "sniff of approval" from one of my pups, so off to the installer this coming Monday. Anyone looking for a complete TRD Pro suspension with less than 800 miles on it? Make me an offer...

I split time between Redding, CA and Incline Village, NV (ie Tahoe). The parts will be in Reno where the work is being done and then Incline. Not sure I'll bring the stuff back up to Redding unless I have extra room.I would like to avoid shipping - but if you want to pay that cost too, up to you. Make me an offer for the parts - I figure you'll want coil-overs, rear coils and rear shocks. Welcome to anything else that comes off during the install. The system will have under 1000 miles on it.
