KC Apollo Wiring Problem

Just got some KC Apollos today and hooked them up to my '98.

Well, after getting it all done it seems the battery is being drained quickly.

I turned on the car and after a few minutes it wanted to die because of the battery drainage.

My ground for the Apollos is on the hood latch support that goes up the middle of the car, on the bolt to the bottom of it.

The ground for the switch is on the firewall next to the brake booster, I'm guessing this is a ground issue.

Any help?

sounds like you have something reverse, a bad ground does not cause the car to shut off.

It didn't shut off, but it went down into really low rpms and seemed to want to.

Stock alternator and stock style battery as well. If that effects anything.

A bad ground would affect whether they work or not, not how much current they draw.
Have you disconnected them to see if the problem goes away?
Did you use a switch, relay and fuse on the install ?

In reply to both, I have disconnected the 12v power source, and everything seems okay. I'm thinking of running a relay, does anyone have any photos of something that would be optimal in this case?

Also, tonight I left my 98 at home and drove for a few hours and came back to a dead 4Runner (98), but before I left I disconnected the Apollos. Is it possible that the battery was drained so much before that having it sit made it die? I jumped it and drove for about 30 minutes, got back home and measured the car off voltage and saw it drop maybe a hundredth over the course of say 4-5 min (from say 13.09 to 13.08) - is this normal? I haven't done any wiring on this vehicle, so this is very foreign to me.
