KDSS bushing!

I have a 2015 TPE and went to a pretty easy trail today and suddenly heard a loud metal on metal clunking noise... Looks like the bushing to the KDSS popped out...won't get it fixed for another couple days. Anyone ever heard of this happening? And you guys think it's still cool to drive on it? Any advice/input would be appreciated...

The good one...

The one that fell off...

Is the part with no dirt where it was?

An arrow would help a lot. I think I know what you are talking about but not going to guess.

Think you are the first to have one pop out. Is the dealer covering the cost? Or is it out of pocket?

Should be a simple install.

bizarre. did you install the ICONs yourself, or did a shop do it? if the latter, i'm guessing it was something they did when reconnecting the sway bar.

shop installed it and they are covering the fix...
not really surprised then. working around/with KDSS requires being particular/patient in a way that likely isn't a regular part of a tech's day-to-day working on other vehicles. worth it, though, as the KDSS + ICON combination delivers a pretty amazing level of performance.

glad to hear they're covering the repair for you.

Interesting.

Has anyone done a KDSS aftermarket set of sway bar links for lifted 4runners rather than keep them directly mounted like this?

they probably put the bushing in backwards so it didn't seat properly and offroading caused it to come out.. you're the first i've heard of that ever happening

maybe hauling down the washburn roads wasn't a good idea? haha

I blame you...

That's what I was thinking too...do they need to disconnect that particular sway bar/bushing to install the coilovers though?

See anything wrong with me driving on it like that for a bit? Can't get it fixed until monday.
