It won't be a repair if the actual unit is leaking it will be a replace. Like ATL4R said take it to a dealer who has experience in these repairs because this is uncommon and requires specific tools and training. Basically in this unit you have nitrogen gas precharged to a specific pressure on one side and hydraulic fluid on the other side.

If they don't take it to another Lexus dealer. I used to take my Audi to a Porsche dealer and they honored my warranty.
The Lexus dealer will probably have more experience working on KDSS.

It was not meant as a attack on you, just an observation.
If you think about what I posted, the post should alert you to potential rust damage so in essence it was helpful.
I would not expect a 3 year old vehicle to have rust on it.
I'd like to know the cost of the repair if it was not under warranty. $$$$
Also, I'd probably be concerned about warranty if I was lifted and needed to get the KDSS warranteed. Might be a battle....
Long term, KDSS could get expensive. At least with XREAS, it's easy to swap out for regular shocks.
Maybe I am just trying to justify not getting KDSS.

Agreed on the last part, I always thought the system to be overly complicated for what it is. A simple electric disconnect like Chrysler uses would have been suffice
HBRunner, did we ever get an update on this? Any idea what caused this? Did Toyota/Lexus get this repaired on the 1st try?

They had a look at my front KDSS cylinder today too. The service advisor stated that he was told that unless there is a noticeable "drip" as opposed to seepage his supervisor won't sign off on the warranty repair.
I am not too worried, I am at 30k miles, so if it fails at 50, that's fine.

I'm starting to get tired of hearing these stories.
I'm still waiting for my dealer to call me back and let me know when I can expect my replacement headlights and prop shaft to come in.
I was wondering if it is definitely the KDSS since there are powersteering lines above this.

That is not acceptable. It is not desigend to seep. If the dealer wont repair/ replace it find another delar or contact Toyota directly,
That is total BS, dont let them get away with that lack of customer service.
You did not pay $40k for seepage

According to Toyota its normal for parts like shocks and such to "sweat a little" for the previous generation Camrys there is a campaign that dictates how much "Sweating" is too much and requires replacement (usually past the spring perch if anyone cares...)
I personally agree with you, its a gas charged system; if fluid is getting out, so is the gas charge and it needs to be dealt with.
In regards to the KDSS, if its leaking at all noticably have it taken care of. If the Dealer doesn't want to do the work, take it up with Toyota Customer Support.
As for the person asking about what a regular shop would charge to do the repair, more than likely they won't touch the system at all. Many 4th gen guys have issues with shops just trying to get their XREAS system repaired or more often than not removed. They also will most likely lack the proper Special Service Tools to perform the repair and will advise to take it to a dealership (hopefully before the screw it up).
Also, unless Toyota, the dealer, or the warranty adjuster can prove that your lift directly caused the failure of a given suspension or driveline component they are required to honor their warranty. I have had multiple claims on my 4th gen and the adjuster and I talked about how I liked my lift kit and such without once suggesting they wouldn't cover the issue at hand.
