Keaton's 2000 4Runner

Thanks! I bet that highlander package rocks!

Oh it does, I just gotta wait till summer time when I ain’t in scho do I can get it lifted with 33’s. I had no idea the Highlander package existed till I got mine and was trying to figure out why my SR5 had limited fender flares, then I found the answer on here. This has gave me so many good ideas.

Pretty sure 2000 was the first year to have color matching extended flairs on the SR5 package.

Ha! I was driving today and someone pulled up next to me asking to buy my truck.

"$8k"

I finally received my air filter and O2 sensor. Doesn't look like the O2 sensor was ever replaced, so I'm happy to take care of that.

I've been trying to track down "Vipkit, RS32+, 4RUN" - "08585-35840" which is the RS3200+ add-on kit for trucks with RKE.

I'm happy with my fob, with my range, etc, I just want an alarm. If anyone has the RS3200+ and doesn't want it anymore, let me know. I've emailed Camelback, and I might sic my Toyota parts guy on it.

I also have an RS3000 kit for sale, and a Toyota alarm info page up here: Keaton's Toyota Tech Page

EDIT:

Dammit, Camelback does not have it.

Replaced the rear hatch lifts since Monroe has a closeout deal on lift shocks for $7.50/piece plus shipping. Works fantastic now. Just have to be careful replacing the E-clips. Those suckers fly off.

Washed, clayed, and buffed the 4Runner today. Since purchase, the hood and front fenders felt and looked a bit chalky, plus there was a large scratch where I hit a tree branch on a trail down the passenger side. Finally got that taken care of.

I also redid the front bumper's wiring since the PO used wire nuts (why!!) and tied the light pod's ground to the blinker (why!!). Look at this mess:

I realize it does not look a ton better, but I promise, everything was soldered and heat shrunk appropriately. Plus, when everything needs to be ziptied out of the way, it looks funny. When I get a fog light stalk, I'll switch to the fog light's harness. The single wire on both sides tying into the fog light harness is the ground, as it should be done.

I also swapped the LED blinker's functionality on the front for the amber driving lights up top, since the blinkers sucked on the bumper. Now, it looks killer.

I also replaced the PCV valve with an OEM Toyota one since I had oil in my intake. I also replaced the front O2 with a Denso.

I ended up feeling bad about the bumper wiring again. It just still looked terrible even though it was done correctly

Looks way better with some conduit.

I also finally hooked up my ECT button that I pulled from an automatic 4Runner to control my Antenna. Press in, antenna goes up, press again, antenna goes down. Works great.

The wire nuts that the PO put the radio harness together with started clattering. Ugh. Let’s redo it:

I have an issue currently where my skid plate doesn’t line up. Can anyone help?

I also replaced the sound deadner behind the stock speakers in the door with just some frost king duct wrapping. Made a slight difference in harmonic resonance in the door.

So since the semester is coming to a close, I can start making money again.

I'm thinking I'm gonna drop the front end down to 2.5", maybe 2" and try to find 265/75/17s for some Sequoia split spokes. I found the rims for $450, gonna try to sell my factory 5-stars for $150, and eventually my 3-spokes for $250.

If anyone has front Tundra coils for 2.5" let me know haha.

Nice looking 3rd gen :)

It'll grow on you

Well, it didn't.

I have sale pending (will know tomorrow). Been looking at UZ100s on Facebook and Craigslist. A friend is checking one out for me local to him on Thursday.

Long story short, I just need something different. Comfortable. Nice. I'm going into my twenties, and I'd like to have something newer like that. I like taking friends on trips (hackathons, camping, etc) and just having something with the safety features and modern amenities makes a big difference.

I was able to clean the interior how I wanted it since day one, finally.

Sold the 4Runner to an awesome guy named Josh. Hope he gets many more miles out of the white stallion..

I missed 202 Black Onyx so much I bought a 2003 LX470 with 225k.
