Key-Fob Condoms!

I never knew these existed! Now I can quit worrying about breaking my fob when I drop my keys. Anybody already have one?

I thought about this but the idea was great until I realized that the remote would be grippy in my pocket.

I just bought a used toyota remote case from ebay and customized it to fit. $12 project, like having a new remote.

Seriously though, it sounds like a good idea if your always dropping your keys, or throwing them around. If you carry them in your pocket I think it would suck, not to mention it would be like a cell phone case; you would have all kinds of crap (lint, fuzz, dirt, hair, etc) getting trapped behind the case making a mess. I don't see a need for it, but I'm sure there are people that would.

Well I carry mine on one of those small carabiner around my belt loop.. They bang up against stuff all the time.

i have one on mine. the key ring part broke off and i kept losing it so i bought one of those and it works well and keeps it on my key ring.

I used electrical tape to hold mine together and keep it from breaking..

To fix the broken key ring hole then used the silicone case for added protection.

similar ones advertised in back of Autoweek and other car mags is only $6.50 with free shipping.

I like mine-had it about 2 years now. Keeps all the other keys from banging against one another while in the ignition.

FWIW I have 4 of them. Not just to protect the fob, but i have 4 identical key fobs (2 4th gen 4runners) So my silver 4Runner's fobs have the silver cover and the Black 4Runner's fobs have....you guessed it, the black covers.

I have had them on for about 2 years now and they still look new, however if you are one of the duded that wear skinny jeans these will suck since they make your fob VERY grippy.

They do work okay and if you get the real silicone ones they do not ever get hard even in the cold. But again they are hard to get in and out of your pocket.

I bought one and liked is enough to buy one for my spare key and fob! Just watch how crazy the seller gets on the price! Try to get on shipped for free if possible.
