I would rather have a company that steps up and fixes something that could be wrong from production. Some companies will have a known issue and never make an effort to correct it at their expense. You bought it, deal with it mentality.

I am in a Toyota parts department and it is crazy the number of campaign issues we have to deal with. Most are not even safety or quality but rather customer satisfaction.

My 92 Ford truck never had any recalls, but it was still a pile of crap. GM has always been extremely hesitant to recall anything even when people were dying, whereas Toyota does it without batting an eye.

RAM holds that title. My brothers truck gets recalls monthly.

Mom's Yukon Denali had a crimped harness for the 4WD that locked it in 4LO one day. Needed a flatbed ride back to GMC.

GM just fixes them IF come in broken, but refuses to recall them.

The only big one I remember was some emissions stuff.

Campaigns are NOT recalls, in fact nothing customer service related is a recall. Recalls are strictly for safety and compliance issues.

Toyota got hit hard by the runaway cars. Especially when they faked a fix blaming the carpets and then had to recall the recall and fix them again. Between that and all the Takata stuff it makes since that Toyota is high.

I am looking at a new tow rig for my Dad and the 2019 Ram is on the shortlist because of the positive reviews (and because the only things that broke on our last two FCA vehicles were aftermarket parts that weren't as rock resistant as advertised).
