King Shock's Group Buy

In need of 243 also.

did you ever hear back about the 25001-243?

also, i read in another thread that if you order kings through DSM, you get a free rebuild. is that still the case?

I am in IF the 243 is in the mix.

Also...
I have a 2015 4runner TE w/KDSS, not lifted, just leveling kit for front to get rid of the rake.

I understand I would need the 25001-243 (if included) and 25001-279 plus TC UCAs.

As I am not experienced with this...would I gain anything significant with shelling out the extra dollars for the adjustable versions of the above shocks as a weekend warrior wheeler?

Is extended travel a worthwhile gain for me and does it work with KDSS?

Thanks

The 243's are included, but you need to PM me if you need pricing.

We've got 5 paid, and need 5 more.

By the way this GB closes Friday the 11th. DSM said that if 10 people haven't called by then this wasn't meant to be.

I am in, i just need to make a call over to king to ask a couple questions about ext vs non.

I will make payment to dsm tomorrow.

phx4rnr, I have the identical 4runner as you and have the same question for King.

Would you mind posting a summary of pros and cons from King for extended or non?

The extended travel has longer travel so you get the most with aftermarket arms. S, new UCA's are needed for extended travel. If you don't have something like All-Pro or Camburg UCA's then extended travel is a bad idea.

I just paid this afternoon. I am #8, need 2 more. Using the stock UCA's now, but plan on putting aftermarket UCA's on in the future to correct caster. Should I have ordered the extended version?

Just heard back from Micah at DMS...some info for KDSS people
adding the adjustability option you will see about 15% gain in compression per click of the adjuster.

They do not offer the ext travel version for the KDSS model.

Call DSM and talk to Micah. He might be willing to work with you.

Here's the deal. The GB is a go, and you need to get pricing from me. Once you have pricing you'll need to call DSM to place you order. DSM will take orders until 2pm PST on Friday, at 2pm they will charge everyones cards and send off a email notification showing the order and the parts are paid in full. On Monday morning they'll place the order with King. I would estimate 2-3 weeks to build all OE stuff. They get deliveries every Thursday. Once they receive parts they will start shipping complete orders, and at that time you will receive an email with the final copy of your invoice and the tracking info.

Correction, I spoke with king and Micah. They do offer the kdss version in extended travel. Micah wasn't sure if they offer it, but said he's pretty sure he can order it with the spacer removed to make it extended travel. King confirmed they can do it either way. They both said if you have new ucas, go extended travel, if you don't have them, do not get extended travel. If you plan on getting ucas down the road, you can have the spacers removed as well during a rebuild.

So standard and extended travel are the same shock, but one has a spacer installed to limit the travel of the shock? Interesting.

Holy smokes! Thank you for doing more due diligence with this. I will definitely get new UCAs. I will contact Micah and modify my order.

I would prefer to do install once. Dad always said to "do it right the first time".

Is extended travel a different price?

Also, does anyone know if it is still true that you have to remove the coilover to adjust height? 2014 posts I've read say that this is the case. Sounds like a PITA.
