I figured I will start my own thread to keep things organized and in one spot. Now im not as experienced as some of the guys here but hopefully through my build there's going to be some useful information and tips for someone.
This is my third Toyota Truck. I have started with importing 1994 Japan Spec. Toyota Landcruiser 80 with 1HZ V6 engine, which was a lot of fun and did tons of off roading in the western Canada all the way to Tofino but I sold it for being too Spartan for long trips, slow in the hills of BC and well 1994.

My second truck was US Spec 2002 Toyota Landcruiser 100 Series. Excellent power distribution with a V8, smooth and plush ride. Took this truck all the way from Edmonton, AB to San Diego and back for 9500mil trip.

However something was missing, I wanted the technology and to finally start with a clean slate on a brand new vehicle and almost bought 2014 Toyota Tacoma but the second I found out that 2014 4Runner TE came in white, the facelift and upgraded interior....The decision was made and pick up my new toy in November 2013 one of the first ones in Alberta:

I absolutely love it and have big plans for it with some things that are already installed and many many to come this spring...lets begin

Hitch Step

Got a hitch step which also serves as a recovery point. I'll post photo on the truck tomorrow. I know its different but figured id try it out, kind of bought it in the spur of a moment lol

Wheels!

Finally got myself a set of wheels:

FN Wheels - Konig Countersteer Type X

17 x 8; -10mm offset in Matte Bronze.

The wheels came with blank bronze center caps. I however have the silver TRD caps which I am planning on plasti dipping in bronze at a later date.

I love the look and good stance without 1.25" spacers :roll::roll:

Rear lighting

I swapped out the LEDs from precision lighting to lower lumens for the license plate. Partially because it seemed to be too intense blue but most importantly because one of the LEDs fell apart at the pins and did not work after 6 months .


Overall happy with Precision LEDs premium kit installed for the whole inside/outside of the vehicle. However the customer service could be better. I originally ordered the interior/exterior kit and license lights and back up lights. I had only received the kit. I emailed them about missing parts, was promised that they will be shipped to me for free......7 month later = nothing:doh:. So I gave up and re-ordered what I was missing.hwell:

I have changed the back up lights (old stock bulb on the left vs. new LED on the right). Much Better!:roll:

PlastiDip

So it was time to get rid of the non-matching to anything chrome details on the truck. First time plastidipping and I gotta say if you watch the youtube videos and take your time, this stuff is awesome. I don't know how well it will hold up over time but I'll see. I went with flat black.
I got a bit of overspray at the bottom of bumper but some quick rubbing with fibercloth and it was all cleaned up. I have used some rubbing alcohol to clean up the areas, 6-7 coats since its hard to get all the contours around the letters with about 20 min wait between the coats. I love the look!

Not its time to buy the Plastidip spray unit and do the silver parts on the bumpers
