Knock sensor wire plug location

1995 4Runner 3.0 V6

I think I've finally located the knock sensor wire and if it's what i think it is, it's unplugged. That could be givning me the code 52. If it's the correct black wiring harness that has to small copper male ends inside of it.

My problem is I dont see anywhere to plug it in. What I'm looking at are wires that are taped together with what I think are injector connections (grey in color) and go around the front of the motor over to the ECU. Should the Knock sensor plug, plug into something near the throttle body?

I hope this makes sense and a good photo would help if availalbe.

I searhed the thread and see photos of the knock sensor wire, but I have not seen any of it actually plugs into after it comes out of plenum.

I guess what i'm really asking, can someone tell me or does someone have a photo of where the pigtail of the Knock sensor wire comes out from under the plenum. It seems like it would have to be close to the connector I located.

IIRC, there is no pigtail on the sensor, it has terminals the harness connects to.

Are they easy to locate. I understand that they are on the drivers side somewhere near and under the throttle body (I think). For the life of me I cant see anything there that would plug intot the wire leading over to the ECU.

Does this look like the wire that the end of the knock sensor should plug into after it comes out of the plenum. I bought this truck used with the engine light on. I guess it could be possible for them to have forgotten the KS wire when the HG's were done. I can not find the KS wire coming out from the drivers side anywhere. Its strange that this plug is so close to the area where it should be.

Just got back from my local Toyota dealership. Bought a new knock sensor wire and it plugged right in. Obviously, when the HG's were done they never hooked up the KS wire. I will be buying a new knock sensor tomorrow and doing the knock sensor bypass. Hopefully problem will be solved and I can start on the cosmetics of it. (new paint, rims, striping, etc...)

Hey Firebiz (or anyone else that might know,)

Bought my 95 3.0 a couple of months ago. Had the valve cover gasket replaced and the mechanic made a couple of mistakes in plugging the vacuum lines. Took me a couple of weeks to get it all right.

Drove home and I noticed this part, (pictured) had fallen from the engine on my driveway. Sent the pic to the mechanic asking what it was, he had no idea.

Fast forward a couple of months and I get a CEL 52 after installing a new thermostat. Took it in the shop for a diagnostics and was told the pigtail was no good and needed to be replaced.

Are these pictures of the plug that inserts into the pigtail, (just below the throttle body) and is the the possible source of my 52 woes?

How did the bypass work out?
