Update

My 4runner got out of the paint shop today! No more damaged clear-coated Evergreen Pearl. I decided to go with a shade of metallic silver at the old maaco shop. I do have to say that they have done a great job on the car. The only flaws I see are - there is some spray over on one tire, there is parts where the weather sealing is silver, but all in all its way better then before. The paint job brings out the racks that need to be painted!

watch the paint like a hawk. i thought about using maaco but the reviews were terrible. personally i would have thrown a fit over the over spray. looks great nonetheless. be sure to maintain it though.

Yea I looked at the reviews to and I decided to try it since every one has a different owner so i decided, what the hell why not. I will try to maintain it but one thing I am worried about is that I just noticed the 4runner logo on the back is crooked from a pic, I wont see the car till Friday, I hope it doesn't dry like that! Yea I would have thrown a fit over the spray too but unfortunately my dad picked it up, not me.

Looks good! Looks like a whole new ride. I agree with michael833. Take good care of the paint and make sure it has a good coat of wax on (I would do two applications yearly. Spring and Fall). They're on the cheaper side because they don't put that many coats down, especially when it comes to the clear coat. Shouldn't be an issue if you keep on top of it.

Update

Okay, its a time for a bit of a update. Two weekends ago I received the FJ logo for the grill mod so that started a working weekend. In this update the logo goes on, t4r stickers go on, rims go black, and trd stickers come in.

First off the logo. I dropped my phone therefore I had to restore it therefore a lot of progress pictures were lost. Here is the only two pictures that survived of the logo installation.

The day after the logo was installed, the rims were started. I just used the method that is in the tutorial and reference sticky.

I'm down for that! I would really like to go to down south off road this weekend but unfortunately you need a parent or guardian if your under 18 to enter their park. I'm thinking about going down to Galveston this weekend, doing some fishing and doing some off roading at san luis pass at the end of the island. You think you can do some galvy wheelin this weekend? The only down side is that is very limited amount of trails at that spot.

Update

A few weekends ago michael833 and I met up at San Luis Pass in Galveston, TX to do some light trails. It was a lot of fun and worth the drive. We only got stuck a couple times in the really dry sand. There was one point where I got stuck then behind me michael got stuck, then a black dodge tried to pull me out, then got stuck. Finally a red 4x4 ford pulled the black truck and I out, then got stuck pulling Michael out. The black dodge re pulled the ford out then the ford pulled Michael out all the way. Whew good to get that all out! Here, get ready for a lot of pictures.

Update 3

The day after Michael and I went to San Luis Pass, I was still in Galveston so I went back. On this trip I discovered that I have BAD leaking problems. I had water come from the sunroof control buttons themselves. Water from sunroof was a major area. At the end of the weekend I opened up the back gate and discovered that I either have a major leak back there or I flooded the back. Both are possible. I pulled up the carpet to find a lot of water and the carpet was soaked. I dried that out pretty quick. Any recommendations?

wish i could 2wd cruise with you guys. looks fun. that mud looks like its easy to clean up. the mud down over here stains and its basically clay...

You should invest in something like these, MAXTRAX: Vehicle Extraction & Recovery. I don't have any yet, but I plan on getting some.

As to your leaking problem, I would take out the hose and see if you can reproduce any leaks to determine if/where they are coming from. If the sunroof is leaking try cleaning out the drain holes first, then probably replacing the seal.

4runner looks great dude and i have to say the color change makes the 4runner look WAY different but in a good way since there is no longer any more flaking. Mods are coming along well and ur off to a great start!
