KYB Height

As long as the top mounts are rust free, the only wear parts in the top mounts are the rubber bits. The shocks should come with new stem isolators, so then you are just left with the upper spring isolator to replace.

Up to you whether you want to do that or not.

Thanks for the updates. I'm still going with Gas Adjust KYB's.
Second question - probably should do a new thread but who replaced the front shock mount wiht new shocks. KYB sells one for about 30 bucks. Mine have 200K on them but all in south

Lots of opinions about the top hats, or shock mount bushings. I'll add one more! The bushing molds to the shape of the coil. If you are reusing the old coils you can re-use the bushings in the same position. Of course though, it doesn't hurt to replace. I also used the KYB top hats and they have held up great for 40K miles so far. KYB is the OEM for some manufacturers so their products last.

Just saw this post, and I'd like to share what I know about the KYB's.
I recently bought the Truck-Plus assembled struts with spring (SRG4528 and 4529). Fixed the diving and wandering softness well... But I never read anywhere that it adds 2" of lift. With Bilsteins in the rear (original spring), now both front and rear spaces between tire and fender lip are equal. I think the lift was an added bonus, and the ride is soooo much better.
Hope this helps
