I ended up with my Pro because that was the only one on the lot that two dealers had with crawl control, I really wanted a premium. They had just got the quicksand pro and they made me a good deal on it so I got it instead of a trail premium. My buddy has a trail premium and I am still envious of that moonroof,

Seems around here that the off road versions of the 4-runner TRD-off road, sport, pro don't last long in stock, I watch the inventory at 3 dealers that are local to me and they move them as fast as they get them, while the sr5 stay on the lot longer. The same goes for Tacoma's around here, the off-road version does not last long on the dealer lot. the TRD-sport are plentiful but the off-road model are sold within a couple of days of delivery. There is no markup on them but the dealer are not hard pressed to discount them either because they know it will sell.

Initial internet price they offered: $2641 off MSRP without any negotiation from me. I'm sure I could get another $1K below this price.

You are welcome to use the attached letters as a negotiation tool. This is what I sent to another dealership, and they then matched the $4114 preferred customer discount.

Please note the vehicle in the paperwork above did not yet arrive to a dealership. That VIN was for a vehicle scheduled to arrive at the port. So the initial negotiation was for a vehicle my local dealership didn't have on the lot, and later discovered they couldn't get it... That's when I contacted Phillips Toyota with a copy of the offer I included here. They accepted the discount on a TRD Pro on their lot.
